Fruit Smoothie
POSTED ON 03/28/15
I don't really have recipes. I start with something that will be juicy - oranges or grapes or pineapples or juicy peaches or plums. Then I add what I think will taste good with it: apples and carrots blend well with almost anything. Apples are cored and cut into at least eighths. Your choice to keep the peel or not. If not organic, peel! Carrots should be peeled and cut into chunks your blender can handle. I tend to colorize my smoothies. Yellows and oranges together or purples and reds together. I love to add some frozen fruit, but it isn't a requirement. An orange and a banana blended makes a nice breakfast smoothie. Adding frozen pineapple chunks to it makes it into a WOW smoothie. Adding fresh pineapple and some frozen peaches to it is TRUST ME, delicious. Try it without the banana too. Adding pomegranite seeds to red seedless grapes, a plum, an apple, and some frozen berries will be a winner too. I buy frozen organic peaches, pineapples, and berries. I buy a fresh pineapple and chop it up and freeze some for my smoothies too. When your bananas are going to get too ripe, freeze them. You'll get the hang of making smoothies in no time. Add just a little of something the first time and see if it overpowers the rest. A little spinach thrown in with the berries will be fine. One carrot might be too much, depending on size. Eat some of the carrot and throw some in.
