New Enthusiasm

My new computer arrived and I managed to get Windows 7 installed on it. I had heard there were problems with Windows 8 and the Sims 3. I didn't want to chance anything going wrong.
Spent the last week getting used to the computer updating things I needed on it and have now got around to the Sims 3 installs :) ( I currently have the base game, WA, Late Night and a couple of stuff packs)
I want to install my last saved game. I find it unbelievable its was 2009 that I made this last "save" LOL. This is proving tiresome as with so many patches for the game. Automatic updates don't help, so I have to remember NOT to have that option checked after installing the game.
I remember the last time I had to install my saved game after hard disk failure, I had to make sure I had the "right" patch for my saved games. They wouldn't load without the correct patch.
I haven't kept in touch with what has been going on with the Sims 3 and since I have only been able to play the base game with World Adventures on my old computer, really lost interest.
So I'm going to need a lot of patience and luck to get up and running on my new computer with my old saved game. Getting back to speed with playing is going to be a challenge too LOL
I do miss the ease of everything we had with the Sims 2, Add the EP then patch. We could save patches to a folder which made life very easy, none of this online stuff making life difficult. I'm not getting any younger so these things get harder and harder to sort out!
If everything works out well I will have a lot of catching up to do with EP's. I hope I haven't missed the boat.
