A house with a stable for Lunar Lakes
POSTED ON 03/31/12

As promised, a place to keep a horse in Lunar Lakes. This house fits on the 30x30 lot at the edge of the cliff. It has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a pool and a garden as well.

It contains furniture from various EPs. You can always redecorate if you don't have everything.

I also made my rl dog, Zelda, whom I rescued in January. She's a Catahoula Leopard Dog, the state dog of Louisiana. Her color is called "Red Leopard," but since she's more fawn than red, I just call it brindle merle.

Catahoulas are descended from Native American dogs, mixed with Spanish mastiffs, greyhounds, and French Beauceron dogs. They come in almost any color, though the amazing merles, red and blue, are typical. They're full of personality, too.

If you want an intelligent, high energy dog and are committed to good training, consider a Catahoula. There are so many waiting to be rescued from death row by a loving family.

Here she is with my other rescued dog, Druid:

She's only about 3 months old in this picture, and should grow to his size.

Pet-friendly house for Lunar Lakes (or anywhere else)
POSTED ON 03/28/12

In my universe, sims brought their pets with them to Lunar Lakes.

I kind of find it a pain that, in order to make a new neighborhood playable for the base game, the designers have to leave out all the EP goodies. One therefore has to do a lot of construction work, adding community lots, and especially pet items, before getting a satisfactory neighborhood. I guess some people don't worry about what goes on in non-played houses. I like to ensure that the town's pets at least have a food bowl.

So here is a house that more or less fits into the Lunar Lakes community stylistically, and it's ready for a family with pets to move right in. You could also plop it down in any contemporary neighborhood. I'm not sure what happens to the LL trees, though you can switch them out. The house contains items from various EPs, which are easily switched as well (except for pet items, of course).

A lot of the LL houses are elevated, which I think looks cool, yet causes the camera to jump around when playing the house. So this home sits right on the ground. No triple staircases to climb!

This one is too small for a stable, but that's next on my list.
The Octagon Dance Club

I've been busy playing Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas, and even started a mod for Skyrim, but I took a break to check out the Sims again. Lunar Lakes needed a few missing community lots. I find some sort of nightclub essential, and, having built a museum that I decided not to use, I turned the building into a club.

It contains a bunch of Late Night furniture, and one Barnacle Bay Fountain (easily replaced by something else), and trees from Lunar Lakes. If you have Showtime, you can swap out some stuff for a karaoke machine or pool table.

I also tried to make Ben Aldridge, but not having a picture in front of me, I didn't get him quite right:

Kinda cute though, huh?
