The Exchange
POSTED ON 01/08/09
I find the Exchange to be kind of a funny place.  Aside from the player-created patterns, most of the content there is just recolored game items.  What I find amusing about this is that anyone can recolor a game item.  Why do you need to download someone else\'s attempt at an original look?

That being said, I have downloaded my share of Exchange items.  I chalk mine up to laziness or just the wow factor of seeing someone\'s clever use of the patterns and colors.

In terms of Sims on the Exchange, I\'m not sure what motivates people to download other player-created Sims.  I upload all of my legacy Sims so that I can use their portrait on my legacy\'s Who\'s Who page.  I am always a little surprised that people would bother to download my Sims...I mean most of them are townies.  And it\'s funny which of the Sims gets the most downloads.  The males are usually the ones with the most hits...and the handsomer the better.

Anyway, until there is more true custom content, I don\'t anticipate using the Exchange a ton.  I have done it and will probably do it a few more times, but what I liked about the Sims 2 Exchange was how diverse all of the creations could be.
