Rainy Days, Swing Fixes, and Indoor Setups That Actually Make Sense
POSTED ON 12/02/25
At first I worried that I’d need a full enclosure, custom lighting, and a ton of space, but once I really started measuring and testing things, I learned that consistency matters more than anything. My ceiling height is just barely enough for a driver, so I ended up practicing mostly irons and wedges indoors until I figured out how to angle things safely. One thing that helped a lot was paying attention to the hitting mat; the first cheap one I bought was too firm and absolutely destroyed my wrists after a week. Also, I didn’t realize how important screen durability and bounce-back were until I nearly got smacked in the leg by a rebounding ball. When I started comparing layouts and figuring out which pieces would fit my space, I kept referencing a DIY golf simulator setup just to understand the basic structure and how different parts should be spaced. I’m not saying buy anything there, just that it helped me picture how the components work together so I didn’t waste money on stuff that wouldn’t fit. After a couple of tweaks and swapping out a few things, I ended up with a setup that feels comfortable and actually makes practice something I look forward to instead of something I have to schedule like a chore.
