I\'ve been having a lot of fun playing the new EP, I\'m just hoping that I will still like it in a few months time.
\r\nI don\'t mind doing the adventure side of this EP but I know that the novelty will probably wear off after a time. The things I really like about this EP are the skill building things. I love the Sim Fu, the moves are stunning and I like how our Sims can build Athletic skills and Martial Arts skills at the same time. I love the extras that come when practising breaking boards with the spawned space rock that can be collected. My Sims have found a few special ones. I especially like discovering things in the game that make life for my Sims a whole lot better.
\r\nMy Sim got cursed in a tomb in China. I was a bit worried that I only had two weeks to find a cure, it suggested that I visit the Sphinx but that would mean going to Egypt. I found by accident a cure (I\'ve still to buy my Prima guide to help me out with some things, but it\'s fun to find stuff out for oneself). One of the Sim\'s in the family found a special healing rock while practicing breaking boards. I had put this in my cursed Sim\'s inventory waiting to see what it would do when she got home. But I found that while she was mediating the curse was lifted! I was a bit disappointed as I wanted to see how a Sim changes into a Mummy but I guess I will get plenty of chances to see how that happens! lol!
\r\nI also love the snake charming. I can get a King Cobra for my Sim but I\'ve had so much to do in the game I haven\'t got around to doing that yet.
\r\nI\'ve had a few problems with the EP but nothing major that has caused too much frustration or made my game unplayable.
\r\nThe game is visually stunning too and the music for each destination atmospheric. I really think the Sims 3 team have done a good job with this EP. It has really made me like the Sims 3 game a whole lot more.
\r\n

So I\'ve had an intensive gaming week of WA exploring all the destination. I was originally disappointed when first playing WA but I have mellowed and realised there is a lot more to this EP than I thought.
\r\nObviously a lot of work has gone into making this EP. I love the new plants/trees to find and grow, new fish to find. I enjoy the nectar making but not the Maid clearing away the Nectar as soon as it is served! SimFu is fantastic (the moves look stunning) and the items to use fun. The new songs to learn and how our Sims sing them while in the shower/bathtub or while making food. I wondered what we were going to do with all those rocks our Sims collected in the base game and now we have reason to collect them! I\'m now wondering what the Sims 3 will offer to do with these new ideas with rocks and gems in the future. I was thinking that maybe in the style of the Sims 2 OFB and FT that items could be used to craft things our Sims could use or sell. I think I would find it fun to do that.
\r\nI love the snake charming and it took me back to the Sims 1 Makin\' Magic.
\r\nI have come to realise that the puzzles in WA are not difficult and I\'m glad about that as I don\'t think the Sims 3 should become an adventure type game. I don\'t play the Sims to play that kind of a game. I have found the adventures mostly fun and like the idea of finding things that can\'t be got back home. I\'m pleased that EA didn\'t make those options available as a buy item as they did in the Sims 2 BV. It gives a reason for our Sims to go on vacation if you want those things in the game. Of course much can be put into the neighbourhood back home such as plants and fish and I intend to as much as I can in that direction.
\r\nI have had several game crashes and found lots of odd bugs and glitches, but what\'s new when a Sims EP first arrives on the scene! It hasn\'t stopped me playing though. I\'m playing an older saved game with aging and story progression off so I guess I\'m missing out on some of those problems that come with those options on. I just couldn\'t start a new game with new CASim and no skills. I\'ve had my fill of starting new games in the Sims 3! Also I decided not to install the latest patch after reading about some of the things it updated and problems people had with it. On the whole I haven\'t had too many problems that have made me not want to play WA.
\r\nI also noticed that my Sims were fishing out the ordinary Sleeping Gnomes while in vacation areas. They were not of the Magical kind.
\r\nIt\'s still early days of playing WA but for the moment I\'m impressed with what has been offered in the game and it is keeping me amused for the time being.
\r\n

I don\'t dislike WA but I\'m still felling that the Sims 3 has gone down a different path to it\'s predecessors. I\'m still feeling that \"opportunities\" are very much in control of the game rather than myself.
\r\nOk, I admit that I have only had my Sim family visit France for the second time. I had them take the reward so they could stay longer. I have already become \"stuck\" on one opportunity, is this a glitch in the game or something that I have just not understood about the \"quest\". All the same for me this does not feel like a \"Sims\" game where I\'m in control of my Sim\'s destiny! As someone who has played adventure type games for nearly 20 years I feel that it is a great shame that the Sims 3 should also go down this road. There are plenty of \"adventure\" type games on the market and I feel the Sims should follow their previous format and not extend the game into the \"adventure\" market. One of the things I loved about the Sims 1/2 was that it was more about what a Sim could achieve through the skill of the player and the fun you had with deciding a Sims future. It was more a Simulation of Life. I feel now that I\'m having to jump through hoops with WA to take on adventure type missions to improve my Sim\'s ability to stay in a destination longer. Yes I\'ve had some fun on some of those occasions but how long can this last for?
\r\nI am disappointed with WA. I know I still have China and Egypt to explore and perhaps I will see a different side to this EP. I\'m hoping that those destinations will offer more. I can\'t understand why vacations are limited in time and you need to take \"opportunities\" to get longer Visa visiting times. I can understand that this is to set goals but I do not find it at all fun. Bon Voyage in the Sims 2 wasn\'t my favourite EP in the series but I found it very useful in many ways for my Sims in the Sims 2, especially those Sims at University.
\r\nIf EA continue to with this theme of \"opportunities\" (or adventures) for a Sim to advance I\'m sure I will soon become bored with the game and perhaps not play the Sims 3 anymore. I feel very say about saying that as I am such a big fan of the Sims.
\r\nI haven\'t noticed too many problems with my WA game at the moment but I have already experienced a couple of game crashes while my Sims were in France. Luckily I had saved just before it happened otherwise I would probably have given up on the EP by now.
\r\n

Well I decided to give up on my last game and start afresh after experiencing \"disappearing Sims\". Fortunately I haven\'t had this happen in my new game but I haven\'t played any ghosts for a long period on the Lot as I did in my last game.
\r\nI\'m been randomly choosing traits for my Sims so I can experience some of the ones I haven\'t yet played. I\'ve seen some funny things with the \"insane\" trait. I haven\'t played this trait before. This particular Sim I have loves to keep looking at the gems and rocks I have in the garden. He also loves to \"sit\" be it on the edge of the bath tub or even the toilet! It has given me a most welcome chuckle!
