OK, this release day is officially the longest day ever (10/26/10)! I hoped my game would come in the morning, but then it didn\'t matter because the weather has been awful today. It rained like crazy this morning and then the winds kicked up to over 30 mph. I was on the computer around 9:30 a.m. to check if the update was released and my computer shut off like 3 times in less that 10 min. The high winds were causing power surges and so I just turned off my computer. Then the UPS guy didn\'t show up with my game until 3:55 p.m. So I didn\'t bother trying to install it since the lights kept flickering....Gahhh!
I finally turned on my computer round 6:00 p.m. since I haven\'t had the lights flicker for awhile. I got stuck in the Late Night forum checking out pics and info people are providing about the new pack. I also wanted to check out if people got their code to redeem the pre-order bonus items, because I didn\'t get a code in my game case. I pre-ordered from EA and found a thread where they said EA will email you your code. So I checked my email and I got my code. Not sure if I\'ll install my game tonight...I seem to have developed a killer headache and my eyes are all watery.
So much for having a Late Night Simming day, LOL.
Edit: Guess I will try to install the patch and Late Night, the headache tablets seem to have kicked in and at least my eyes have stopped watering. :)

Is coming in today, supposed to have a Severe Storm between 6:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. rain and winds up to 30 mph. I planned to stay home today so I could wait for my Late Night EP delivery. Thank goodness I am waiting for it, otherwise it might get blown away. The UPS man has a tendency to just leave my packages on my front stoop, but if it\'s windy today the package might get blown away!
The UPS guy usually comes in the morning around 10:00 a.m., but yesterday he dropped off a package for me after 2:00 p.m. So who knows what his schedule will be today. I\'m so anxious to get my game, I can\'t sleep. It\'s only 12:30 a.m. right now, but I\'m not tired and I don\'t feel like playing my game.
I was lurking on the forums on and off today, thought everyone would be so excited about the LN EP release. There were some fun threads, but then people who didn\'t have the game yet got kind of nasty. There has been so much drama on this site lately. I was hoping the release of the new EP would settle things down to just being excited about the game, but unfortunately as one drama seems to end, another one crops up.
Well better try to get some sleep so I don\'t miss that UPS guy! Gosh he better show up early, LOL.

Yeah I checked my tracking code and it says my delivery is on time and set up for tomorrow. So I\'m not going to be one of the lucky ones to get it early this time. It was funny I was reading a thread where the OP was waiting for the UPS truck to show up and then I heard a truck outside, so I ran to the window to check and sure enough there was a UPS truck in front of my house. So I ran downstairs and opened the door, yes there was a package...sigh but it was for something else I ordered. Normally I would have been happy to get my delivery so quickly, but I was hoping it was LN!
Oh well tomorrow isn\'t so far away, LOL. >-<
Edit: Gee I just thought of something, I hope my computer is able to play LN, some people mentioned the new town is pretty big. Guess I\'ll find out after I get the game.

Received an email from EA that said my game shipped on 10/22/10, but I don\'t have a delivery date yet. I pre-ordered my game from EA since they were offering the same bonus items as Game Stop. This will only be the second time I decided to pre-order a game, my first was the Ambitions EP because someone posted a code which discounted the game price to $19.99 and I ended up only paying $21.20 for the Ambitions EP. I suppose I could wait and pay less for LN, but not sure if you will still be offered the bonus items. My obsession with this game has totally wrecked my common sense and I need
to have those bonus items, muahaha! If my delivery is anything like Ambitions I should get it in the morning, I think they rang my bell around 10:00 a.m. central...so hopefully LN will be delivered around the same time. Can\'t wait!

In a nutshell, they apparently discovered some forum administrative accounts that were used to impersonate EA employees and were able to delete threads. They are also unable to recover the deleted threads. A lot of people have been up in arms about all their deleted threads, which I don\'t blame them for being upset. They put a lot of work into their stories, pics, etc. and have to start from scratch. Some have started over, others just gave up and ended their threads.
The incidents that have transpired the last couple of months have certainly created a lot of strife on this site. The theft of points which unfortunately caused people to pick a side and those who picked the side of the \"banned \" members ended up feeling betrayed and shocked when they were indeed proven guilty of the offense. Now deleted threads and people getting into arguments over who and why they were deleted, only to find out it was done by someone who used hacked administrative accounts.
I doubt that we will ever have the real reasons as to what really transpired. Will this happen again, more than likely. Does that sound paranoid, well sort of , but I once had some problems at work that were making me a bit paranoid and a friend advised me to \"stop being so paranoid, because they really are after you \"...Gaaahhh, we are all doomed...LOL.

New Items for Dr. Pepper and T Mobile!

Yippeee! They finally have new items for both Dr. Pepper, I\'ve been saving my codes for this next round I only need to buy two more sodas and I will have all the new items. There are eight new items this time around.
T Mobile has a new bar, table, chair, dress and t-shirt. I picked the dress, it\'s really pretty. Maybe I\'ll post pics later, gotta run out right now.
Edit: Didn\'t make it to the store today, so will have to try and pick up more Dr. Pepper tomorrow. I didn\'t get a chance to move the photos for the Dr. Pepper items. Maybe tomorrow. Wonder if all these new promo items were the cause of the site trouble yesterday. Oh well, it seems to be working better today, except the smiley\'s are still missing.

The forum is acting up for me, the index is not showing up correctly and can\'t see any threads. Wonder if they are working on the site? Didn\'t see any new messages from the Guru\'s. Guess I\'ll try later.
Edit: I can see some of the forums, like stories and legacies, EP, SP and Store forums. GD, Technical and the rest are still messed up.
Edit: Well it\'s 5:59 pm by me and the forums are still a tad messed up. I guess a lot of threads got deleted by accident, so lots of unhappy people. I guess I\'ll just go play my game and hope this gets all resolved soon.

Was my latest Sim that was featured, but her link is broken. I was going to change my Avi today and use her, so I thought I would check her on the exchange and when I tried to click on her link from my studio it goes to the Ooops Page
! Whut?? I wonder if that means if she can\'t be seen on the exchange at all now? Bummer, well I was only going to use her until I made a new Halloween Avi. I hope she wasn\'t accidentally deleted from the exchange, because I thought featured creations weren\'t supposed to ever get deleted.

Gifting Bans Fin!

This will be my last thoughts on the gifting bans...whether all of these people are guilty or innocent, I don\'t know. I\'ve always found this little adage to be reliable, \"actions speak louder than words
\". It really is up to EA and their legal dept. to deal with this whole issue.
As for the female\'s facebook page being deleted, correction from her loyal friends, she changed her privacy settings. I\'m sure she was being overwhelmed by the visits to her page by so many strangers.
You may wonder why I don\'t mention these people by name, I\'m not even sure why I don\'t. I\'ve really never talked to most of them on the forum. The guy who was banned gifted me because I sent him a gift first for something he said on a thread way before this fiasco transpired. Whether I was gifted by these people or not, really doesn\'t sway how I feel. I\'m certainly old enough to earn my own money and buy my own stuff.
Whether people return or not is up to them. How they will be received will depend on how they conduct themselves. I just hope they can tone down the gifting if they do return. Although you know people\'s hopes will be counting on her to continue with her mad gifting ways. How very sad for her, think about it...wouldn\'t you want to be liked for who you are rather than what you can monetarily give someone? How could you not question peoples motives, unless all you were really aiming for was adoration no matter the cost, again how very sad for her.
It would be awful to have all the beggars come back and I\'m not trying to be mean, but seriously some of these people never posted on the forum before all this started. Then most of their post were made in the gifting forum, because as much as I lurk, I never saw their names come up in other sections.
Honestly the gifting forum seems so much calmer now that the free-for-all has ended on the gifting. I know some of the other legit and generous gifters have lost their mojo about gifting. Well if gifting others has lost it\'s meaning for you, then yes maybe it\'s time to stop. Whatever your reason(s) for gifting were, it shouldn\'t feel like an obligation or make you sad/mad.
My only objection to people who continued to discuss how the points were stolen, was because there were those who had no clue how this all started and now you give them a visual. People are funny, they are opportunists who will repeat past mistakes thinking they are more clever and will never be caught. If I worked for EA I certainly wouldn\'t like a visual being posted over and over of an error, something akin to being a slap in the face. Yeah, so all the hysteria has finally calmed down on the forums about the unfairly banned BIG gifting members. The complaints were squelched because of a confession by one of the banned members, he put it up on his facebook page that he did acquire the sim points from the EA store by questionable means (yeah, he stole them). Someone hacked into the store and found a button that allowed them to get free Sim point bundles. So yes indeed it was all about the money ( as I suspected) that sent EA into a full alert mode and ban all those who were gifting like they had millions. Mind you I think there were like six people mentioned that were banned. The top two gifters receiving bans immediately and the rest sorta followed as this all unfolded throughout the day.
However there still was only one person who admitted to stealing. The female top gifter still railed her innocence and rallied the troops for support by proffering pics of all the gift cards she had purchased. Believers thought that would be her redemption, doubters wanted receipts. It was madness as far as I was concerned, I was upset that she had created so many beggars and all the chaos on the forum(s). Yet so many people rallied behind her, after all they had been the recipients of so many (ill gotten) gifts...they must remain loyal to the gifting queen, especially since the Holidays are just around the corner. They even organized an EA boycott, sigh. Then a surprise supporter, a member resigned from her EA moderator job to support the queen. Surely this meant the queen was innocent if someone from EA\'s inner circle would actually give up such a position to support the queen. Nay my young lads n ladies, tis not true...if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it is indeed a Duck! Off with her head!
Then EA finally made an announcement on the forums to silence the angry mob and allay the fears of those who thought if you gifted anyone, you would be banned (seriously!), oh so much drama. Here\'s the thread: http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/274729.page
Then the queen was telling all who would listen that she was only temporarily banned and would return, it was all a misunderstanding. She would come back with a different name too, after all EA deleted her My Page. Then it all went quiet. Interesting, now the queens facebook page is gone, poof, deleted, she inexplicably has vanished, exiled? So either she is indeed guilty or she cannot take the shame. I think her money would be better spent on some psycho-therapy.
So after all this drama, now people feel they have to explain their support of the banned members who seem to be indeed guilty. There are those who feel foolish, some who feel guilty for receiving so many stolen gifts, some who feel entitled...blah, blah, blah. I frankly don\'t give a rat\'s tail about all of it. I just know I\'m sick of all the begging and have made my naughty or nice list for Christmas, in fact I started the list way back when all the gifting madness started.
Like all those who have been perma-banned before, some return because they can\'t stay away , others return as someone else and then there are others with huge ego\'s and low self esteem that are never heard from again. So be it, whatever floats your boat.
There are so many disturbing things that transpired throughout this whole debacle, but the two things bother me the most was the lack of morals and people\'s greed. It is worrisome indeed, that so many could be swayed by something so insignificant as pixels.
Hopefully these people will be forced to make restitution for the points that weren\'t paid for. Although I\'m sure EA is PO\'d about the money, someone left their position over this and I wonder how many heads have rolled for the security breech, who else may have their job in jeopardy over some computer hackers. I worked for a large fortune 500 company, there always has to be a scape goat when a significant costly mistake is made...and you know it all rolls downhill. I can just imagine all the finger pointing. Gahh what a mess.

Gifting Bans

OMG, the biggest gifters have been banned. I was only on the forum in the morning yesterday to check out the new items in the store, but never visited the gifting forum. Well actually, I don\'t visit that forum much anyway, it just seems that there are too many opportunists that hang out on that forum. So I was in GD and saw someone with a siggy asking to bring back the 2 banned members, so I clicked on the siggy to see what was going on. Anyway as always the reasons were vague for the banning, so people are going off and starting petitions to bring the banned members back. Makes me wonder what has them more upset, is it because these people were banned and won\'t be around to chat or because they won\'t be receiving more gifts.
I only read a couple of threads to try to figure out what was going on and it seems that one of the reasons for the bans had something to do with \"suspect redemption activities\", not sure what that means. The only reason I can see EA banning someone for gifting is because they didn\'t get the money for the points or the money cards were fraudulently obtained and used. Bottom line it\'s always about the money.
One way or the other things will work out and not to be so cynical but honestly they weren\'t the only people who gifted others on this website. They were just ostentatious about their gifting.

\" is the new set which has 21 items, but I cannot see a pic with the new set. Can\'t know if I like it or not without a pic.
The freebies are \"Wings of Kalliopi \" which is a mirror and \"Cherub Kalliopi \" is a painting...those items don\'t have pics yet either.
There are a couple of new pay hairs \"Toddler Hawk \" and \"Lil\' Terror \" (child), not sure if that is part of the new set. I tried to use my IE, but it won\'t work right now and so I\'m using Firefox. So not sure if the browsers make a difference on whether the pic\'s show up.

The freebies are \"Wings of Kalliopi \" which is a mirror and \"Cherub Kalliopi \" is a painting...those items don\'t have pics yet either.
There are a couple of new pay hairs \"Toddler Hawk \" and \"Lil\' Terror \" (child), not sure if that is part of the new set. I tried to use my IE, but it won\'t work right now and so I\'m using Firefox. So not sure if the browsers make a difference on whether the pic\'s show up.

The Wretched Threads Set includes 5 new hair for toddler/child/teen. Can\'t see the 2nd page of items getting the 404 error. :(
Edit: 11:08 a.m. central Looks like there is more than one new set, was looking at individual items and some new items for kids rooms and more modern furniture. \"Glitter and Glam Bedroom\" , \"Front Row Center Bedroom\"! Gahh, no wonder it\'s taking EA so long to update the store, they seem to have a lot of new stuff. Well I will definitely wait til later to check on what\'s new in the store.

Featured Badge...

OK, apparently I was confused as to what Sim I received my featured badge for, I thought it was for my Sim Shemar Moore which was featured back on 03/01/10.
I was just in my studio to make sure a new (well actually old, he was culled and I made a new version of him, Ronin) Sim I just made got uploaded properly and I noticed my Leopard Girl which I made like almost a year ago had a lot more rec\'s and downloads, couldn\'t imagine why a Sim I made a year ago would be getting so many more downalds now, how curious. So I decided to look at her on the exchange to make sure it showed the same numbers of downloads/rec\'s...OMG Sqeeeeeeek, Squeeeee, faints. I see she has a featured star from 9/22/10, whut! LOL, I never noticed her on the home page where they show the featured items. Honestly I thought the featured star on her was a mistake, so I checked her a few more times to make sure the featured star was really on her and it was, which of course would explain why she was getting downloaded and rec\'d.
Wow, so that means I have two Sims now that got featured , I\'m so happy! I would be ecstatic if they would give me my other featured badge for Shemar. Sadly I think I may never get the badge for Shemar , but at least I finally managed to wrangle another featured badge!
