New Island World in the works

I'm starting a new world. It's too complicated to get those distant terrains to work, so I stick with islands for the most part. This one will have several smaller islands in an attempt to keep things manageable. Oak Island is so detailed that CAW won't even let me add more lots to it. I only have 135 in it, and I only want four more, but they won't stick. I've tried adding them many times in CAW and once in EIG. Every time I close and go back in, those last four lots are missing. They're very important. I went out of my way to sculpt the terrain to make them fit, and even started building on one in the game version. (Had to add them with World Editor in game). I even uninstalled and re-installed CAW to see if that was it. There's just too much going on with all the trees and terrains and rock falls and stuff. I'm guessing that's it. I seem to have bagged my limit on goodies in that world. So I'll just play the version I'm using now and let it be.
Not much time for the game for a while. Vacation days are over and it's back to the saw mill for me. For now, just a bit of lurking on the forum and back to reality. Much to do today, and no wants for any of it, but RL is in a demanding sort of mood and I am its puppet once again.
Boy, did that sound pretentious, er whut?! :)

I finally settled on a link and a pic, just not all in one. I'll keep trying as time permits. I'm hard-headed that way. It took me forever to get one that worked for the Grimmy video, but that one was up for years and it needed to go. Good thing I rarely post, eh?

No idea what I'm doing wrong. All I wanted was a simple little photo siggy for the garden lot. These monsters below are the links I get from PhotoBucket. Too long to be allowed by EA. When I tried Tiny URL I got a link to nowhere every time. Nowhere is a good place to go if you've got a full tank of gas and a buddy to do the driving. In this case it's less than desirable.

Sooooo, I blew a piece of my vacation day on that. Did get some laundry done between swear words, and my big fuzzy new coat is in the dryer now. I don't buy anything that requires dry-cleaning. I don't believe in spending money on something I would wear one time and then leave draped across the furniture while I tried talking myself into buying something to accompany it to the cleaners. I'm a country girl. I bought my coat at Academy. It closely resembles the one I bought last year at WalMart. :)
That's probably more than anyone wants to know about me. Looks like nap time and a movie later, and maybe a few phone calls. And another stab at that stupid siggy. Life is more interesting when you don't know what you're doing anyway. Am I right?

Perfect Garden is in my studio! It isn't nearly as good on the Exchange as the version in my game, but it will have to do. I got it down to 4.1 MB and still managed to keep the perfect produce, perfect wines (about half of them), and some of the harder-to-find rocks and stuff. Also over $100,000 simoleans in money bags, so the newcomers can get a little leg up if they want it.
Whew! Ok, now I wait for it to be culled so I can get all ticked off. heh heh. But I know what it takes to get it back up there, I guess. That version will definitely be going into a save file for future use.
I'm going back and forth between this and trying to be a good little human and shovel my hovel. Laundry, dishes, all the fun stuff you can't cheat done in RL. Need to clean the carpet after I put away the mound of groceries I haven't found places for yet. Yep, being grown up is not as much fun as I thought it would be when I was a kid.
It's even BETTER! Because now I can say, "Hey, that will wait until tomorrow. I work hard all week. I can sit down and cuss this game for a while if I want to. Too bad I quit drinking all those years ago. This would be a good moment to celebrate with a glass of wine and a big, juicy steak. Guess I'll settle for Gatorade and a burger though, since that's what's available. I said I work hard. I didn't say I was rolling in cash. :)
Ok, quit ignoring my blog and go download that lot. It took me a week to get it up there. :)

I went in game and lost about 15MB from the Perfect Garden lot, and it still won't upload. The launcher says it went, but it did not go. I've got it down to 4.75MB. I guess I can lose a few more and try it again.
Y'all stay tuned. heh heh.

I got two lots to upload this morning, but not the ones I wanted. These were both built before Pets. It looks like anything built after Pets won't go, even though these others are in my game with Pets installed. ? ? ?
I'm not uninstalling everything to that point just to get lots on the exchange, so will just have to do some reading and see what's really what.
Grrr some more.

I got a sim to upload. She's a fairy. Nothing special. Just a quick one to see if it would work. I tried to upload one of my worlds a week or so ago, and that wouldn't work. Now lots also will not work. Those are the only things I'm really interested in, so I guess I'm done uploading until a bunch of somebodies at EA get off their tails and fix this hooey.
I see there's another update as well, to fix the zombie issue. As far as I'm concerned, the only real fix to them is to allow us to disable them completely. I bought the EP so I can download worlds with it included, then was pleasantly surprised to find so many good furniture items in it! This game will probably not get updated again right away. At least not until it's proven not to upset CAW. That is not an option at the moment, with Oak Island - or whatever it ends up being called - still in the works. I only have two really good scenic areas in it at this point. The town is flat and boring, and most of the buildings are EA or downloaded, so that needs to be remedied. I think I'll probably build shells and use Jynx's rugs and doors this time around. I put in the community lots from Sunlit Tides and am already tired of looking at them. They all look alike. Thing is, I put in lots sized specifically for them, so will have to redo those and redo the addresses. Or just bulldoze them and rebuild. Yeah, probably that. I think I'll keep the school and stadium though. I'm working on a tailgating area behind the stadium lot. So far it's dull and lifeless, but I've got the fences worked out so they can leave one and walk into the other. The default picnic tables in CAW are white. Ick. I want nice wood patterned tables, so those will be plucked and replaced with a lot I can build on.
Enough of this for now. It feels like a good time to hit the couch and watch a movie. Sims are invading my sleep - not as badly as Farmville used to do before I quit Facebook a couple of months ago - but I catch myself dreaming about perfect banana trees, and this will not do. :)

I got three not-so-great patterns to upload with no problem. It took a few seconds for each one, and all are showing in my studio. But no lots. Dang it. File sizes are not that big, and it shows in the launcher every time that they went up.

The uploads didn't show. It's been several hours now, and no sign of them. I'm trying the Perfect Garden lot, but don't have high hopes for that either. Good ol' EA. Almost everything works every now and then. Nothing works all the time, and most of it is never working at the same time as anything it worked with before.
New uploads ... maybe.

I don't know if they'll show up, or even if I uploaded the ones I meant to. The ranch house has several different versions. Hopefully I got the one that's finished and has the witchy stuff in the basement. Also should have stuff in the treasure trunks.
The Renovated Barn is something I started on months ago and forgot about. I finished it this week and really love that country kitchen. I think it was originally an EA lot that I tore down and redid. All that remains of that, if that's what it is, are a couple of plants in the yard and some terrain painting.
Then there's the little Victorian house that I did in a few hours. Started it one day and finished it the next, but it didn't take long. The yard could use some work, but the house is cute.
All of them have store items in them. All EPs, and all towns except Lunar Lakes, which doesn't appeal to me. Those might not matter though.
I'm working on a perfect garden, but I keep finding more plants to add to it. It's got a little shack in the middle, but a full basement under it that my Simmies are living in while we work the garden. Treasure trunks full of goodies, if they upload, including perfect plants, perfect wines, and a lot of rocks and stuff. I'll upload it if I ever feel satisfied with it.
