I have gone back to playing the Sims 2. The funny thing is that I don\'t really have that much desire to play the Sims 3 in the way that I had with the Sims 1/2. EA\'s lack of communication to tell us what is happening regarding a patch of the Sims 3 and finding when I come onto this site new stuff for the Sim Store and more information about the new EP makes me think that patching their game is not a \"top\" priority. I used to appreciate the postings by the Maxoids on the Sims 2 site where we could list some of the bugs found in our game and have some feedback that they were looking into things for us! I know the Sims 2 isn\'t perfect and that game still requires patching. I seem to have more fun playing the Sims 2 than the Sims 3 even with the loading screens and bugs!
\r\nI saw the writing on the wall way back in the Sims 2 when Bon Voyage came out. I knew that my PC game playing days were probably going to be limited due to the piracy of games and the attempts for game companies to try and stop it by using aggressive copy protection or making their titles online only and using engines like \"Steam\". Although the Sims 3 hasn\'t gone as far as that by putting their whole game online, if they had I wouldn\'t be playing it, but by putting things in the Sim Store for exclusive download I feel is another way of protecting their interest as well as giving them \"exclusive\" income with over priced items, imo. I don\'t have a problem of game companies doing that but they have to be aware that by doing that sort of thing they will make some people like me, who has been a PC and Sims game player for many years, actually stop buying their games and playing them. I don\'t want to have download a game or extra items to put in my game. I want to buy a disk with these things on which I can install and uninstall at my will. I don\'t mind some exclusive downloads but not things I want to put into my game such as items the Sim Store offers. I don\'t know what the solution is to stop piracy but I do know that it will probably put an end to my PC game playing days.
