As anyone who had been giving assistance to the community would know, just about everything given is part of a database of knowledge of people helping people. (in this case simmers helping simmers) The Walden95 Post Directory and many of my other help threads do just that by giving newcomers an easy to read all around database.
If you have been recently exploring my list of threads, you would have known that I was expanding it to include tips, tricks, cheats, and other useful things to help complete this all around easy to use database. The two most recent threads to this collection being the completed being the Optimizing Your PC - Improving speed, performance, & reliability a nd unfinished Cheats & Secrets - For everything you didn\'t know threads are the newest additions.
What I\'m looking for is a little help. Anything contributed to the directory or any other thread would help. I take in almost all suggestions and information as long as it\'s acceptable within the forum rules. Anything from helping to complete my unfinished thread to pointing out obsolete threads on the Directory would be appreciated. Thanks.

With the recent release of the Unlocker Mod Version 3, I\'ll be investing more of my free time towards Cities XL.
No, I\'m not leaving this community for good; this is not a goodbye blog post. I like to rotate my games every few weeks to a month or so that everything stays fresh. If you noticed many of my other blog posts, you probably already know that I\'m a SimCity and a Tycoon game fanatic. With this, I\'ll most likely won\'t be posting for a bit.

Like many before it, the goal of the game is to expand your empire. In Cities in Motion, you have over a 100 years of evolving transit vehicles and methods beginning in 1920 all the way to 2020. Graphically, the game looks a lot like TrafficGiant expecting the full 3D environment (as shown in the next image).

Nevertheless, this new game looks fairly interesting. I\'ll be keeping my out on this as it does look promising. If you want to do the same, you can check out their site for videos, screenshots, and a few details by clicking here for the announcement or by clicking here for the main site.

City builders have been around for quite a long time. In fact it\'s just over 10 years older then the Sims is. But what about them makes them so fun? It\'s just managing taxes, reducing traffic, and a bunch of micro managing after all. Well isn\'t the Sims all of that too?
SimCity and SimCity like games has come a long way. Just like the Sims, you can be as creative as you want, and really get into the game. It\'s really a pallet and you are basically using your paintbrush to create a masterpiece, or just an experiment to see what you can do with all the tools you have.
It\'s nice to know that your creation really is alive. What you do impacts it\'s everyday route. It complains just like any Sim would if you delete their toilet. It\'s really quite amazing how everything does add up to especially in SimCity 4. In that game, one day, there might be milk and honey and the next an economic crises with abandoned homes and such. It can do this all on it\'s own because the market does fluctuate with rises and falls in demand.
Few city builders have filled a void: one too long. Since SimCity 4, about 6 years ago, not very many people took a shot at making another game. The major issue was that such a game required a very intelligent engine as so many things go tougher into making the game run, and all of it has to be within reasonable specs Compared to the Sims, a Sim in a city builder usually has more than 6 needs or things that go into making him/her happy. In SimCity 4, it was about 20 Health, Police, Fire, Education, Recreation, Commute, Air Pollution, Water Pollution, Noise Pollution, Commercial Services, Jobs, Power, Water, and everything else not mentioned. Everybody in the city has their own options and complaints generated by graphs of data on top of graphs of data. Everything has to be taken in account of day after day after day. The game just can\'t take shortcuts like the Sims by making everything you are not looking at assume that all of it\'s needs and wants are filled. Everything interweaves together in a complex but intriguing way. However, such a game wasn\'t too complex or unprofitable to come up with a new one. Yes, EA changed the formula to a much less fulfilling setup in SimCity Societies to save a buck, (as usual) but they failed by doing so. The newest game to fill this void is Cities XL.
If you haven\'t herd about this game, it\'s probably because it\'s just been so long since a real city builder came out. Back some years ago, these games were more of a deal, but gamers have moved on. Or, it could be that the game was produced originally by a somewhat small french game company. Now the game is owned by a newer company, Focus Home Entertainment, and will hopefully expand. The beginnings of Cities XL were slow and slightly unfortunate, but there is a new day ahead. The newest edition to come is Cities XL 2011 to come out in 2010. Weird huh? Rumors point that the game\'s release date will be October 15 coming from a Cities XL 2011 box for sale on amazon.com .
Well, I\'m pretty much out of room to write here on this article knowing that this blog has a character limit, so that\'s all for now. I will likely be reviewing the game when it comes out. See you then.
