James Purefoy
POSTED ON 08/28/11
I\'ve been planning to sim some real people I fancy, mostly BBC people like Alan C u m-ming and David Attenborough. The celebrity thing seemed a little odd to me, but after I tried one, it\'s surprisingly un-weird to have them running around your neighborhood.

So, James Purefoy... wha? Ummm, sorry, I was swooning! I recently watched the Mira Nair version of Vanity Fair again, and was reminded of my James Purefoy fetish. Not being a fannish person, I didn\'t know much about him, so I checked out some interviews. He\'s simply charming and lovely, and has the most endearing goofy smile (which I couldn\'t quite capture in his sim). I gleaned what knowledge I could about his possible sim traits, though he says he likes Rock, which bizarrely is not a choice. So I took some wild guesses.

I was unable to find a Napoleonic military jacket for him, more\'s the pity. You can actually get a very nice real one from Cosplay, btw. One day, when I teach myself to make sim clothes, I will have to make one. So I put him in the frock coat from Barnacle Bay . If you don\'t have it, I\'m sure he\'d look just as alluring in a tux.

Everyday clothes are from Aikea Guinea - formal shirt , boots , and laced pants (because he said he loved the pair he wore in A Knight\'s Tale). His swim trunks are from lilisims (the bottom right on that page). His perfect brows came from Heiret . His hair is Sleek Chic from the Store . I had trouble finding just the right hair. This one from My Blue Book also works, and it\'s free.

I hope I captured his look, and that you enjoy him as much as I do :)
Vacation!

I\'m leaving for two weeks at the beach - yay! So if you send a friend request or post a comment, be patient. See you when I get back!
Timberstone

I was all finished with the blog for Timberstone and hit the Submit button, when my cursed cable went out, grrr!! This time, I\'ll remember to copy it before I post.

So... there\'s a custom-built house in my offline neighborhood, and it\'s enormous, but I love the materials. I\'ve been trying to build on smaller lots lately, so I tried to shrink the essence of the house down to fit a 20x25 lot:

It has a little pool in the back, and a garden along the side.

Inside, there\'s plenty of room for a family, with three bedrooms, living room, family room, upstairs eat-in kitchen, and a large basement with a party room, work room, and wine cellar.

The top floor is a Mistress Suite:

The basement:

Made with WA, AMB and NL EPs. No cc or store items.

Another son grew up and needed a house. He\'s a flirty musician, so I felt he needed a place suitable for entertaining. I seem to be on a monochrome roll, because this house turned out white:

It has a little pool and room for partying out back:

Here\'s a closeup of Alejandro at his birthday party - isn\'t he cute?

He doesn\'t come with the house though. I think it\'s a little weird how female sims are more popular on the Exchange. Maybe it\'s the playing with dolls aspect of the sims. I don\'t know. I like guys. Sims is my chance to doll up straight guys, lol!

More pics of the house. There are many shades of white!

As usual, much of the furniture comes from NL and some from AMB. WA things have probably sneaked in there, too, but no stuff packs, store items or CC besides possibly some patterns.
