Where'd my community lot go?
POSTED ON 08/18/10
Hey,

Huh my lot has disappeared, ok I know for a fact it had no evil doll attached - so what on earth is going on?

Grr ok I know I didn\'t have a lot of downloads on it, but have they already started with the culling? They did that on the Sims 2 site, but I thought Sims 3 was different, apparently not.

I saw more information about Medieval and it doesn\'t look much like a sims game, it has the characters, but it sounds more like a Life Stories version - you know where it\'s all goal orientated and we\'re stuck in a pre-defined story - ok so we can change it a little bit, but the whole thing I like about The Sims is the families, it would have been awesome to play as a village family that rises to challenges every day, finding food etc, but instead we just get to play as a king and go through challenges - if I wanted that I\'d buy MySims Kingdom for the wii.

\"And rather than play as your little virtual family members throughout the course of their entire lives until they have children of their own who eventually grow into a new generation of parents (and so on and so forth), in Medieval, you\'ll instead play through a single story arc with your characters and be assigned an overall score once you\'ve completed enough of their quests, bringing your game session to an end.\" Quote from the Gamespot article - read it here .

We can\'t build - we\'re stuck with adding bits of furniture - what is this a console game? I know that I said well it would be all right without building but that was when I thought it was a medieval version of The Sims 3 and not some completely different concept. I thought it was for the PC where we have computers that can handle complicated gaming designs like The Sims. The trailer looks all exciting then you read about it and see it\'s just a glorified goal orientated game. I\'ve been put right off it, I\'ll be sticking with The Sims 3 - cannot wait until Late Night! :D

Put on your dancing shoes...
POSTED ON 08/14/10
Hey,

There\'s new info on Sims 3 Late Night - check it out here (see 10th August post).

I like the idea of being able to go from one bar to another to help make a night memorable, if you\'re an adult we\'ve all been there and done that, so it\'s nice that finally our sims can, and they\'re making it age appropriate for the younger generation. VIP exclusives sound amazing - must get my sim into a band, yay we get the drums and keyboard back!! I still miss the grand piano but it wouldn\'t really fit in with the clubbing scene lol.

They are right that in all cultures people love to hang out in groups and have a great time, new dance moves and drinks sound great!! :D

The penthouse sounds great as well, I want neighbours as well though, but we\'ll see about that. I\'m going to be spoilt for choice when it comes to what life my sims should take lol.

I still haven\'t played all the different ambitions - still got architect, sculptor and the full extent of the inventor to go lol - loving the ghost hunter and firefighter - the doctor\'s a bit repetitive but it is still cool that you get to vaccinate and diagnose patients.

Happy simming!

Fast Lane new info
POSTED ON 08/08/10
Hey,

I wasn\'t very impressed with the Fast Lane Stuff Pack, but then EA changed my mind with a video about the stuff pack, check it out here .

It turns out the cars will have proper sounding engines, the old cars sound old and the new cars sound powerful - now I can\'t resist cars like that, plus there\'s all new furnishings to match the cars to your sim\'s house - sounds cool! :D

Medieval Times
POSTED ON 08/05/10
Hey,

There\'s a lot of hype about the new Sims Game - The Sims Medieval. Some hate it and some love it, I\'m in neutral territory lol.

I\'m wondering just what they\'re going to do with this game, some are saying it won\'t have any building tools, but it could. It could at a later date and even if it hasn\'t - Life Stories does great without all the features that are in Sims 3. If you ask me it will become a hit because there are lots of sim fans out there who want the medieval theme and the chance to make their own stories around the theme. The pictures look great, I\'m tempted by it, and I never really got the whole medieval thing, but EA can surprise you with what they come up with, plus ordering someone into the stocks seems fun. They could even add magic, because in the medieval times, they could link in the Salem Witch Trials but well they weren\'t really witches so legend says - so who knows. But until I get more information I\'m going to hold my judgement and wait in anticipation.

If they made it into an expansion, which is the general census on the whole medieval theme, it wouldn\'t work, how can you fit a culture and a whole new lifestyle into an already very much alive game? Sims 3 is set around our culture - where women are equal with men (well if you don\'t think about the whole glass ceiling concept) and where there is modern technology. Adding the whole non technological concept would just change the entire game. Medieval times were sooo different from our times - people were not equal, you get put in the stocks for stealing a loaf of bread to feed your family and no such thing as TV or computers - I definitely wouldn\'t have survived lol.

Go and make your own opinion though - check out the new The Sims Medieval site here. Hopefully they\'ll add more information soon.

Happy simming!

A cool new site.

Hey,

The game did its disappearing act again yesterday - luckily not long after I saved, but still I\'ve got to take Amber & Aaron\'s picture again to put next to the cakes, but oh well.

If you want some cool houses of all shapes and sizes you should also check out this site . He also writes a great blog about any new ideas he\'s having. I can\'t type his name because the blog edits it out and its too much energy to put dashes in between his name lol - but make sure you check his lots - they really are amazing!! :D The link is a tiny URL but only because it won\'t even let me put his name in a link - it\'s not a swear word so it\'s just stupid lol - silly Sims 3 site! Just in case like me you worry about Tiny URL links then I\'ve linked to the preview so it shows you the URL before you enter it, because we all know that some links once clicked on can cause problems for your computer (especially if clicked in msn).

I\'m counting down the days until the expansion, the stuff pack does seem cool with cars, but I\'m still trying to figure out why we should have F1 cars(or whatever the american equivalent) when they all travel at the same speed. So I\'m not really seeing the point of the stuff pack. I love cars more than most women - I watch Top Gear (brilliantly funny program - that series just finished) but still if the fast cars don\'t get you there faster - why call it a fast lane stuff pack? So I\'m saving my money for the expansion!! I\'ll buy the stuff pack later but if other people intrigue me about it, then of course I\'ll buy it lol, after all it\'s only just under \u00A310.

Well I\'m off to sim, happy simming!

Community Party Hall
POSTED ON 08/02/10
Hey,

I\'ve just uploaded my community hall again - it was infected by the evil doll - this one is doll free.
The doll is really hard to get rid off, I deleted the file from DC Backup but it eluded me in the launcher, finally found it though.

If you want to see pictures of the hall, click here . They were previously uploaded to my blog when I first uploaded the hall.

The hall has been play tested by me, I use it for all my parties, in fact I\'m about to use it right now which is why I suddenly remembered I hadn\'t re-uploaded it. Amber and Aaron are about to grow up. For pics check out my sim picture album on facebook: Sims Ambitions 2 .

Wow it already has two downloads and I\'ve only just uploaded it lol! :D

On other news, you may or may not know but Twitter held an event where you could ask Grant Rodiek questions about the Sims 3 Late Night Expansion, you can read the answers on one of my favourite fan sites Neighbourly Sims here .

I\'ve got PEPS (Pre Expansion Pack Syndrome) because of it - it answers a lot of questions that may have been spinning around your head and also raises more - especially like will we be able to have room-mates because when you read the questions and answers you\'ll see they\'ve included so many of Apartment Life\'s features that you\'ll wonder if they\'ve gone all the way - cannot wait! :D

Well I\'m going to get back to playing my sims. Thanks again for all the downloads and recommendations - they really are appreciated! :D

Happy simming!

p.s. Toy Story 3 rocks - if you haven\'t seen it yet - what are you waiting for - go and see it!! :D Definitely the best Toy Story Film ever!!
