The Calvary Charged in!
POSTED ON 07/18/09

Well I had a lot \"stolen\" by someone who is passing it off as their own.  Even if I had spend only a few hours on the lot, it would bug me, but this is the house that gave me hours and hours of trouble, so I would really rather not let someone else take credit for it.  I asked people in the Creative Corner to report it, so that perhaps I can have it taken down, or EA can tell the guy to stop doing that....and they were just tremendous!  So many people helped out...it almost brings tears to my eyes. (I know...not very ruthless of me...)  I appreciate SO MUCH how kind people are here on the boards..very supportive and wonderful.  It really warms my heart.

I just wish we had guestbooks or something so that I could have just asked the guy to take down the lot.  More often than not, on Sims2 when this happened, if you ask them to take it down..they do.  Especially if they are just not understanding about copying..and they did it fairly innocently.  They would just take it down...problem solved.  Cant really do that here in Sims3..so I suppose reporting is the only solution for now.  Why is this concept so hard?  If it is not your work...dont pass it off as if it is.  If you use someones work as the basis for somethig new...as in perhaps remodeling or restying it...then give the credit and call it a day.

On another note....I have alot of stuff going on right now in RL so I wont be able to Sim as much as I would like.  Will probably be a couple of weeks before I am able to offer any new houses.  Didnt want anyone to think I am not offering new stuff because of the whole stolen lot thing.  Not even close to true.  Just dont have time to build...gotta get a kid ready for college and another one off to summer camp :)

New House is giving me fits!!!

I am working on a Queen Anne Victorian and I absolutely love the floorplan..it will be very playable AND it has 5 bedrooms and a study, too.  That makes it great for larger families.  That is the good part.  Now comes the bad part:  this house is driving me nuts!  I wanted to go with a non pastel, more historical color palette.  If you study the genre, you actually see alot of very bold, strong, kinda dingy looking colors...mustard, teal, olive, maroon...etc.    However, I cannot hit the right colors/treatments/finish combo for the exterior...and I have tried so many.  I dont now how to explaining this part, because it is all feeling.  When I get the right combo, it just feels right.  Right now, everything I try just feels wrong.  My poor husband is trying to supportive and he was a strong supporter of a teal color scheme I tried early on, but it was just not what I wanted ( and between you and me...if he likes it alot, that probably proves it is not a good color...lol.  Colors/design..not his strong suit, poor dear.  Good thing he has 50 million other redeeming qualities :) )  Anyway...so I am at a bit of a roadblock until I figure this out.  So, if you have been wondering why there is not alot of new stuff on my page, it is all this stupid house\'s fault.
