But then I figured that was boring, so I thought - why not turn it into an actual celebration?

Oh, so yes, the good news is I figured out how to have more than 24 Sims. I was originally going to use the other five of mine that I usually do, but it's already getting crowded! As it is, there are 19 DD'ers in there - NINETEEN! That's not even counting myself.
Early on before I was even setting up for poses, I merged all the families together and changed the Active Household, then my game crashed on me! LOL! There was just too much DD for my game to handle!!!
Thank you again to everyone for being awesome!
This photo is completely for you all - you're the reason I play the Sims now, and the reason I come back to the DD thread everyday.
A Fair Faire Affair - http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=7523497
Come celebrate the four seasons in style! Featured all year round are the Rainbow Room Pavilion and the Magic Mic Stage. Skating, activities, food booths, eating contests, and kissing booths rotate with the changing seasons here at A Fair Faire Affair Festival Grounds!
(Note - The lot has been reuploaded, there was some glitching where Construction items carried over into one of the seasons.)
In honor of Quxxn's recent passing, I came up with the idea of using her Sims in some of my photos, and then wanted to make it bigger by using other DD Sims. When I saw bouquetcatcher mention that the default Festival Grounds were being used, I thought that would be the perfect large lot that could fit all the Sims.
(I'm trying to get more Sims into the photos for my next project, so see this thread for details on why I couldn't use or fit them all - http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/3081/685670.page )

The Rainbow Room Pavilion - An indoor arcade-like area, available throughout the year. Also houses the bathrooms for the lot.

~ Miss you, Quxxn

ajaxpost, you are awesome, LOL!

Magic Mic Stage - The stage is present throughout the year, with the setup changing with each season. (I wasn't able to use the stage myself, I guess maybe my Sims didn't have the skills. Eventually this group came along and started using it, so I guess it actually is working - again, I couldn't verify it though.)

Spring - Splendid Spring Splendor

Summer - Super Summer Scorcher

Autumn - Awesome Autumn Anniversary

Winter - Wonderful Winter Wingding

Again, Adrian, you are awesome! Thanks for leading the DD thread!
Construction Phase - This has actually been altered, and all of the crates are gone now. There was a glitch where they were getting carried over into one of the seasons, not worth the realism for the annoyance they would cause.

Lastly, celebrating the completion of the lot ~

Thank you to everyone in the DD thread for giving me a reason to play this game! I hope you enjoy this lot! Keep on smiling :)
Something not at all related to pools, I've got a new lot in the works that I'm so far pretty excited about. But there's a special photo surprise that will go with it. Not sure when it will be done - definitely before Sunday. I thought I'd be busy tomorrow, but I finished early today.
Photos taken at the Big City Driving Range
I heard the unfortunate news this morning that Quxxn passed away yesterday. I had linked her YouTube channel back at the beginning of June. I will simply say that she will be missed, but I hope this inspires me to enjoy everything, spread some smiles, do even more with my Sims, and to make more lots that people enjoy.
I think she said it best:

Rose Water - http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=7496816
Hidden deep within a garden of red roses lies a serene pool that only those with the purest of hearts can find. It's waters are considered magical by many for their wonderous calming effects.
(Apparently that's wasn't the correct way to spell wondrous... oh well.)
I swear this game just loves to mess with me. I've no idea why it says there's World Adventures or Ambitions stuff - it's supposed to be only base game. Drives me insane.
Apart from that, the pool is surrounded by red roses, with more roses and other flowers scattered throughout the lot. It's more of a relaxing and elegant lot, with more of an emphasis on nature.
The second lot is pretty much a clone of the first, but with a different theme, and has a lot of content from Island Paradise, so it is essentially required.
Jungle Splash - http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=7496817
Ready for some fun in the sun? Set in a lush, tropical paradise, Jungle Splash brings the excitement of the wild to your inflatable pool chair!
And of course since it's a clone, it's flagged again for Ambitions stuff. Sigh. Although I'm not sure how I got rid of the World Adventures from it.
This one has more of a tropical theme (obviously by the deion), and has more vibrant colors to give it that vacation beach feel.

An elegant oasis surrounded in the sanctuary of beautiful stone and glass. Reflect and rediscover tranquility as your tension flows away, immersing yourself in a world of blue.

Built on a 30x30 lot, this is a two-floor building, plus a basement. The pool is located on the main floor, bathrooms and a balcony on the second, and a miniature gym with showers built into the wall in the basement. The pool is encased in glass, giving Sims in the pool and the basement a nice view. The second floor is also completely open in the middle.
It serves the purpose of being a pool, and that's about it. So in that sense, it actually feels a little boring to me.
Unfortunately, I started using University Life and Generations items when it was still a library, and apparently I missed taking one of them out while trying to convert it into a base game, so it still registers something from Generations (and I don't have the time now to figure out what it is). I'll try to fix it later.
If you happen to own the new Island Paradise expansion, there's plenty of room on the edge to take out a couple of the pool ladders and diving boards, and replace them with the pool slides or fountains.
Also, for some reason on the map view, occasionally the roof would disappear - it seems to come and go.
There's probably a few ways I could've made it better, but for right now at least, I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out.
Let me know if you find any weird bugs!

And unlike the cursed bowling alley, it actually does only have content from Showtime like it should. Looking back on it, I don't really know why the golf thing was introduced in Showtime, kind of an odd ball there (that was not a pun on golf balls).

No real reason for the name except for the sign. I really just couldn't think of anything else.
This is another 40x30 lot, which I placed on one of the SV2 corner lots located near the beach, hence the wonderful view of the lighthouse and ocean.
Besides golfing, I added a pond surrounded by a garden, with a loveseat for couples. There's also restrooms, a picnic area with a grill, a dominoes table, a chess table, swings and a kid's slide, a fountain, and still some space left over for benches and playing sports like football or frisbee.
Have fun, play safe! Enjoy!
Because this is a bowling alley, I only used non-store items from only the original and the University expansions, but for some reason it's flagging something in the lot as being from Island Paradise. As far as I know, it's a false alarm since I triple-checked everything on the lot.
The alley was made in the SV2 world on a 40x30 lot. I named it Big Bull Bowling. Originally I wanted to pick a name that had 'red' it in since I have a lot of red all over the place, then I thought of the drink Red Bull, and then came up with Big Bull.
Big Bull Bowling - http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=7457967
From kids to elders, everyone enjoys a great game of bowling. 15 individually decorated lanes of fun fun fun! But let's not forget the friends and family waiting around for their turn! There's plenty of seating and lots of entertainment, including a billiard table, photo booths, and an upstairs arcade and bar with a full view of the bowling floor.
~ Click on any image for a full-size version ~
I was inspired by bowling alleys that I've gone to in real life - I find all the bowling alleys I've gone to have stairs that go down to reach the lanes from the rest of the lobby (I guess so balls can't possibly roll back into the path of people walking by?), which is why the lane area is built 1 step below ground. I'm not sure if the lower level is why, but for some reason the steps down are in a weird lighting area, and so they come out extremely dark (you can see the top steps are purple, and the lowest step is the correct color it's supposed to be) - if anyone knows how to manipulate the lighting for that, let me know.
The second inspiration came from one I saw in a Let's Play video on the University campus, where the alley had a dining area upstairs. But being completely separated from the action seemed boring, so I devised an upper level as an open balcony, containing the bar from university, bar seats along the edge so people can eat and watch the games, a mini-arcade, and the bathrooms.
I added another set of counters on the first floor overlooking the lanes, as well as a billiard table and photo booth that also came from University. There's also vending machines on both floors.
Each lane has a different fun and colorful design. Since the lighting above the lanes was pretty bad so that you couldn't even see the details, I ran a 1-tile "beam" across the lanes and hung extra lights from them.
This is my first time uploading a lot, so I hope it comes out well and actually works.
