Inventor's House
POSTED ON 07/31/11
This is a little house I built because my sim\'s eldest son grew up and needed his own place. I had been thinking about a metal and fiberglass house near where I used to live in Berkeley, but I didn\'t have a good metal texture for the walls. So I chose concrete instead. I had been thinking something quite different, and then this house built itself. It\'s a rather no-nonsense sort of domicile, which is quite different from my usual houses.

I meant to put solar panels on the roof, so you can add them and a windmill if you like. It\'s too bad the sims can\'t build things like that.

There\'s a roomy basement workspace. The house has three bedrooms, furnished for a family. The smaller rooms can easily be converted into an office.

I wanted to stick with a metal theme, though I started thinking about all the colors metals come in, and the beautiful oxides. I think I might have to make a rust house! However, this one is entirely gray.

There\'s barely any yard, though it has a small garden and parking for one car.

It contains items from WA, AMB, and NL, but no stuff packs or Generations (which I don\'t own yet). No CC furniture or store content.

Wyse House
POSTED ON 07/17/11

I have this thing for W\'s lately, it seems. Wyse house was built by an eccentric collector two centuries ago. It\'s an odd combination of styles, with its massive masonry walls and many roofs that are reminiscent of Carpathian churches. Though it has an abundance of rooms, it all fits onto a 20x30 lot.

The original owner wanted a Peacock Room like the one at the Freer Gallery, but the painter (one of my sim\'s ancestors, no doubt), painted sparrows instead.

One of its owners tried to add a Caribbean flair to the place, and his effusively jungly interpretation remains in one of the rooms:

That is Murilo, btw, from My Blue Book. My sim fell madly in love with him and stole him away from his lady. Bad, bad sim!

There are some lovely outdoor living areas, a garden, and a pool.

No CC, except for a few patterns and pattern recolors. It does contain EP furniture.

Wee Cottage
POSTED ON 07/17/11
I attempted to build a starter home. I\'m afraid it\'s rather boxlike, but hopefully still cute:

It\'s under 20K, or it was before I moved my simself into it. So you get her and the cottage - yay! You always have the option to move her out, but I would be curious to know what mischief she gets up to in your neighborhood. She\'s wearing NL clothing and hair - if you don\'t have NL, please do give her a makeover, so she doesn\'t run around in dreadful outfits.

I have a little issue with the Vegetarian trait: being a veggie most of my life, I seriously doubt I\'d ever eat meat by mistake. The sims, however, are just not very intelligent. Also, if I became a vampire, I wouldn\'t have any problem chewing people\'s necks - it\'s not as if I\'d have to eat great globs of humanflesh. So on the occasions when my sim becomes undead, I usually switch the veg trait to something like Adventurous. I really think Veg shouldn\'t even take up a trait slot, or maybe it should be combined with Eco-Conscious. That\'s my little rant for the day!

Nothing beats a homegrown tomato! Nomnom!

Plum City House
POSTED ON 07/14/11

I\'ve been playing BlueBay Retreat lately, and it\'s a tiny jewel of a world that can\'t accommodate the 30x30 and 40x40 houses I like to build. So I tried a 20x15. I call it a city house, because it\'s tall and narrow, and you can place a row of 20x15\'s in an urban neighborhood.

Plum has all the amenities, and it\'s small, but not cheap. I\'ll have to attempt a starter home one of these days!

Azhrarn & Zorayas
POSTED ON 07/11/11
Inspired by Tanith Lee, I made two characters from Night\'s Master , Azhrarn, Lord of Demons, and his creature, Zorayas, the Iron Princess.

I could not find a cape for Azhrarn, so I dressed him in Ptylo\'s Hakama, which you will need to download. His hair is Peggy 737. His skin and makeup are by Lemonleaf, and contacts are by Vampire Aninyosaloh. His boots are WA.

Zorayas\' top is from Late Night, but you will have to get her skirt from All About Style. It\'s the Full Skirt with Overskirt. Her hair is by the adorable TumTum Simolino at My Blue Book. Her skin, contacts and makeup are by Lemonleaf. What would we do without Lemonleaf? Her necklace is by Rose.

Az admiring himself:

Looking by turns sexy

and evil!

This is my favorite one of Zorayas, at my Castle Perilous:

I hope you like them! Please feel free to leave a comment :)

Castle Perilous
POSTED ON 07/01/11
Strangely, I\'d never built a castle for the Sims before. I say strange, because I love castles and wish we had real castles in the US.

Of course, castles aren\'t really romantic at all. They\'re structures built for the defense of rich people. So if your sims irritate enough neighbors with the new spellbook, you can hide out in Castle Perilous and throw any invaders into the Oubliette.

Pink sunsets make even hard stone seem romantic!

It\'s appropriately dark and gloomy inside. I really just love this picture of my sim, so I\'m posting it :P

The bedroom is luxurious in gold and burgundy:

I didn\'t want to use CC, so the windows are from WA:

The house is fully furnished, but not so cluttered with stuff that you can\'t navigate:

It also has a garden, wine cellar, and stocked moat. Enjoy!
