Frustrated.
POSTED ON 06/13/11
So at some point, when I wasn\'t watching, my male sim husband was at the park with his daughter, and I guess he flirted? It\'s not even in his nature. I dunno what happened, I didn\'t see it. Anyway he got the cheaper reputation, and his wife was annoyed. Ok fine whatever. They are upset for like 7 days and then it will go away right? WRONG. So the negative moodlet says it will go away if you talk with your spouse about it. I tried that, and nothing seems to work, I even let them argue. But no matter what I do, when the 7 days of negative moodlet are up, the wife insists on divorcing the husband, and I can\'t even stop it. It\'s driving me nuts. Any ideas out there?
You can turn memories off

So you can turn off the memory system. But you can\'t turn off some memories (like every time you have a plant grow) and keep the good ones, like when you get married. It\'s under options fyi.
Generations spoiler alert (for daycare profession)

If  you\'re like me, and don\'t want to know what is part of generations until you play it yourself, stop here. Otherwise read on.

So note to players, if you decide to go into the day care profession, be warned that if your gonna have a baby, you can\'t have daycare kids in your home while you are pregnant, have an infant, or after the baby is a toddler (and don\'t forget you miss a few extra days due to the weekends off). So surprise, if you thought you could do this while you have a baby, you can\'t.

Generations spoiler alert (for weddings)

If you don\'t want to know anything about generations until you play it (like I did) then don\'t read on.

Ok so I was totally shocked that after my sims got married, they got \"mail\" in their mailbox. It was gifts from everyone who attended the wedding. It was mostly art, even CC believe it or not, but one sim got them a styling station (which was perfect for my stylist husband). What a nice surprise in generations. I know some people don\'t think this is a great EP because it doesn\'t offer anything \"new\" and huge. But I really enjoy all the small touches it leaves during everyday gameplay.
My thoughts so far
POSTED ON 06/05/11
Well I\'ve only gotten to play generations for about an hour total so far. First off I think the smartest thing I did was to not read most of the info out there before the game came out. Usually I read everything I can get my hands on, and by the time I get the game, I know 95% of it already. This time I decided to let myself read the major stuff, so I knew the gist, but to ignore walkthroughs, etc so I didn\'t know every detail. So now when I find something it\'s awesome and new. I also took about a 30 day break from playing the sims, so it was all \"new\" and fun again with generations. I\'ll probably do the same thing with all upcoming EPs now.

So my thoughts are about two things I\'ve noticed.

One the only \"bug\" I\'ve run into so far, is when my parents get a \"free\" vacation, they come back with all their wishes canceled. So don\'t go on vacation if you really want to keep a specific wish you\'ve been working towards forever.

Also the memory system, while a decent idea, I don\'t like that when you upload them, they just become a huge pile of mishmash in your studio. I also hate that EVERYTHING is a memory. I mean growing a plant is a memory. Not just your first plant, but every single plant she grows it seems. I mean 70 times in a day I get a memory notice. I guess it will make it easy to get all those free objects from uploading memories. It\'s also easy to click the button twice and upload a memory twice by mistake.......
I like I can make my own memories, but I wish the in game ones that are automatic were more selective. Maybe if we could turn off the feature as well? I haven\'t tried yet. Otherwise enjoying the game so far. We\'ll see as it goes along. No issues though with install, slowing, lagging or anything. Which was great. But I know not the same for everyone.
