(Don\'t worry, we live up on a high enough floor so people cannot peek in. When I lie in bed, I can see nothing but sky. Which is nice, and romantic, when going to bed in summer when it is still light outside.)
So what else to do but to get up. I have been doing some research for the last request for a house I have. It\'s not a style of architecture I am familiar with. So it will be fun to do. The Angelic Cubix was fun to do as well. And I have not done many modern homes like that. But I am amazed at how often the Genesis Mansion was downloaded so far. And thanks for the recommendations, too!
I also decided to rotate the favourites again. I am thinking of changing them every Saturday. I\'ll obviously pick a new one if I see something I like during the week, but on Saturdays I want to make sure I have new favourites showing up. It just seems an underused featured.
Just a few things: Why would I pay for a set or an individual object if I am not sure I am going to be able to buy it later on in an actual real life store. Which I prefer. I like the people who work and make a living running that games store. I want to buy it there. And the second point, I am uploading stuff for free on the exchange.
Why not gimme some points for doing that, huh? I am delivering content for this site, their game, and traffic to the website as well as promoting the sales of copies of the game. I am making them money already!
It is very easy for me to just keep to the base game. Seriously. And to not bother coming on this \'community\' website, because let\'s face it the community aspect of this site is crippled, at best.
I never thought it would be so easy to get things wrong when you have a great driving and thriving community behind your product :) But some people are better at making things fail than others. Aren\'t they.
I should be inspired to make some sort of beach house, but somehow I don\'t think I\'ll have time this weekend. I have two more requests waiting. So just like the last one these will be big, nay HUGE, houses. Which people seem to like to download. as i had 21 downloads in 15 minutes. Where my true masterpiece of the Royle Family has only amassed 18 downloads in 7 days.
Big is not always better guys. ;)
I have about 15 minutes to spare... shall I start the game up again?
<Dave\'s voice> \"Yeeaah ...\"
Of course now I continually look at people, on tv or on the streets and think \'I can simify them\', and knowing that I will be able to pull it off. With help of Five of Eleven of course. His feedback and views are very helpful if I have looked at a sims\' face for too long.
In other news, people are noticing other people uploading sims, objects and lots to the Exchange that are not originally theirs. It is okay to report these sims, because I do think it falls under plagiarism. I\'d like to state that it is not okay to download stuff I upload and then re-upload it to the exchange under someone else\'s account. The least you can do is change something vital and even then: give credit to the original maker. It\'s so simple.
Don\'t think you\'re not going to be found out if you upload other people\'s work. It won\'t make you look cool, it will make you look like a loser.
But yay! I got featured on a blog! :)
And now I am going to bed, where I am sure I\'ll be dreaming up more houses and possibilities. I bet I\'ll be building houses in my dreams.
That, or I\'ll be dreaming about The X-Files, which we will see in a few minutes, I love dvd\'s. We\'re on the 3rd season now, many of my favourite episodes are in there. NN.
I am starting up the game now, to build another started home under 16k, with more than one bedroom this time. I think it is possible.
I just noticed there is no such thing as a guestbook or way to send messages to other players. Or did I just miss it somewhere? Though I think the site looks better and is easier to navigate than the sims 2 site, I do miss the option of actually interacting, other than through the forum *shudder*.
Anyway, I\'ll just continue playing for a while now.
But omg at the community members posting on the English forums. Turns me straight off from ever reading or posting there. Slinging personal insults because someone does not agree with you about the sims 3 being a crappy game, being rude and obnoxious, and not a moderator in sight to start slapping bans around.
I do not envy the moderators and admins of the forums and this site. You guys have a crummy job to do.
So I have been checking out the Dutch language forums, which are friendlier, but a bit more kiddie oriented. So even though I like the site and the game a lot, I am probably not going to bother with the other sims 3 community members. Unless I know you from another site obviously :P
And in case you\'d like to read some excellent sims stories made with The Sims 2: http://sims.fiveanddae.com/ should keep you entertained.
I almost did not buy The Sims 3. But I am happy I got it from the boyfriend. Who is installing his own copy right now. I got the game on the 2nd of June, when I was not expecting it at all.
It\'s a different game from TS2, isn\'t it? And I like that. How many games can actually give you a new experience with a sequel? I\'ll be looking forward to what new additions I can add to my game. Starting with the new neighbourhood!
