ENVIADA EM 28/06/09
I finished my first house in The Sims 3 last night; you can download it at the following link: http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=407337

Summer Sunrise took quite a bit of time to create. Moving from creating houses in The Sims Complete Collection to creating houses in The Sims 3 simply left me in awe. I admittedly have never created a house with a basement before, much less a garage or an attic. Summer Sunrise was admittedly something that I had to experiment with, even though I had visualized it in my mind before I began building it.

For example, I knew I wanted an underground garage, but I also knew I wanted a basement in this house, so I admittedly started building the house quite literally from the ground up. At one point, I had a Prius and a van in the garage to visualize how different cars would look in the same space. Likewise, the staircase leading into the basement was rotated once because I didn\'t like the way the initial layout looked.

The kitchen was probably the part of the house that I needed the most objects in to make sure what I had in my mind was what I was going to get in the game. I had placed appliances where I thought that they made the most sense before removing them, because I wanted the house to have as few furnishings as possible. Countertops were left in place, as were light fixtures, and bathroom plumbing, but that\'s pretty much it.

Other parts of Summer Sunrise admittedly saw some redesigns as well. For example, the stairway from the master bedroom into the dining room was initially going to lead into the kitchen, but the layout simply didn\'t work, so I scrapped that idea and decided to go with the stairway leading into the dining room. I had also planned to have both a \"living room\" and a \"family room,\" but decided that the house was better suited with one giant \"great room,\" and designed it accordingly. The half bath off of the great room was admittedly planned from the onset, although it was initially going to be off of the kitchen. Once I had the main stairway in place, I knew where I wanted to put a fireplace, and decided to do so.

Regarding the future of Summer Sunrise , I do intend to potentially modify it, most likely after the first expansion pack for The Sims 3 is released. I might re-color the garage doors and fine tune a couple of things that I might want to improve upon. However, for now, Summer Sunrise should be considered complete.

As far as other houses go, I\'m currently visualizing two very different designs for two very different houses, both of which are fairly different from Summer Sunrise . The first is also a \"suburban home,\" but unlike Summer Sunrise , this particular home will be modeled after the house that I live in. I have no idea when this will be done mind you, but it\'s in the works. The second house is a drastic departure from the other two, and will most likely be an ultra-modern mansion. I\'ve admittedly just begun to visualize what this will look like, and as with the other house I\'m working on, I have no idea when this will be done. Of course, if and when both houses are completed, they too will be uploaded to The Sims 3 Exchange so that others may enjoy them as well.

Finally, if you\'re going to modify Summer Sunrise and re-upload it to the exchange, please give me credit for the initial design. My item deion reads \"Designed by AlexRoz9.\" I encourage you to modify Summer Sunrise , but please give me credit for the initial design, even if it\'s something as simple as \"based on the design by AlexRoz9,\" at the end of the item deion. Also, if you do something really awesome with the house, please share it on the exchange, and please let me know. Enjoy Summer Sunrise everyone.
