For the record

I now have internet full time, yay. before I'd write and save ideas on a flash drive and publish them when I was able. So now, I can write them as I think of them. And I was floored when I read about the survey outlining farming EP for sims 3. As I'd written my Ep idea in March when I'd been playing WAY TOO many Farm Frenzy games and thought, "Ya know what, some of this would be cool in a Sims games"

Oh yeah, they could have goats, bulls (male cows) & rams (male sheep, right?) that have their own set of harvestables. Goat's milk as an alternative to cow's milk. and soy milk for vegan sims or just health conscience ones.

Add Greenhouses, raised planting beds that have a retaining wall, planters and pots to grow things indoors also. Have more garden boarder options (Missing the stump boarder from S2, add a stone one and a lattice one, cute!), more harvestables, grow-able flowers, plants and trees, think of neat it‘d be to see the cherry blossom trees bud out and lose their petals, it looks like pink snow. How beautiful a lot covered in flowering cherry trees would be. Water wells, water pumps, garden hoses & elaborate sprinkler systems.

Consider having a mow-able, growing, water-able lawn and plants/flowers once again. Trees and shrubs grow and need pruned. Fertilizing yards, gardens and fields with either homemade compost from food leavings, yard/garden clipping and animal waste, or store bought fertilizers and additives. Have a sort of botany skill to do interesting things to plants/harvestables genes. Maybe even have a sort of gene tweaking system through selective breeding for the animals also.

Throw in realistic recipes people who live in rural America actually eat, meat and potato dishes. A lot of potato dishes, and veggie dishes and desserts…things like pies, cakes, and cookies. Allow ADULT Sims to do bake sales. It is usually fund raising related.

Something like a Farmer’s Markets on Sundays, where a sim can rent a booth and sell products at the market, or go shopping at it to get homemade local goods. In addition, a 4H type program for school aged sim children/teens to participate in. Have a harvest festival and a state fair type thing, with animal judging, rides, games and such.

Another option is having a Roadside stand to sell harvestables out of. Also, being able to do FARMING/GARDENING on a large scale, riding mowers, tractors, and small scale/indoor gardening, like pots, planters, and tabletop greenhouses. Greenhouse tool so you can build greenhouses again, either onto the house or in the yard. I am repeating myself here…oops.

This would be great to use with a seasons styled EP, players wouldn’t mind paying an extra 10-15 if they got all this and everything weather together…

Farm Ep Idea for Sims 4

In addition, players requested Farm animals heavily, and yet they were not included in PETS. Why is this?  When you seen how excited the community got over Fake Farming EPs and Farm Animals, why for the love of God, weren’t they added? Ok in Sims 4, try this.

Sims 4 Farm Life:

Still have Domestic Pets (Cats, Dogs, all the bird/reptiles/rodents), and of course, Horses. Have a pet store venue to buy these creatures at though. Also, keep the wildlife. Then Cows (gives Milk), Chickens (gives Eggs & Feathers), & Sheep (gives Wool). These are breed able, raise-able.

Say you buy eggs & an incubator, or buy chicks, and also lambs and calves, feed them, love them, take care of them, and they’d have a milking station for the cow. A nesting box to collect eggs and feathers from the hens (Have Hens and Roosters to spawn chicks at random, feathers and sometimes eggs spawn at random also outside of the nesting box) and a shearing station for sheep. They can be purchased though a farming type store/venue, or online (in game: Sims go online to buy things, in the game, not players going online to buy them…Just to clarify.

Farm animals start out poor or normal, and the better care taken of them, the faster their status and harvestable output improve. For eggs, obviously, you can keep them for food, sell them or incubate them to grow more chickens. Wool is carded after sheering, and then spun into thread or yarn on a spinning wheel object to be further developed or sold for money. Milk can be churned into butter, pressed into cheese, fermented into yogurt or kept as milk. All of these items are sellable, useable and edible. (Objects relating to these activities: Butter Chun, Old-fashioned Cheese Press, and Yogurt vat with cultures you can buy from the science lab to add to your yogurt, sometimes things go awry thanks to the goofy scientists, Glow in the dark Sims, anyone? Think how shocked a player would be to see their sim glow in the dark after eating yogurt that had unknown chemical compounds in it from a science lab screw-up… Also, Yogurt would be a way to use harvestables: adding fruit to it.)

For the occult, the golden goose will be left on an uber farmer’s doorstep as a golden egg. Moreover, by uber farmer, perfect animals and perfect plants on the lot. Must hatch the egg under certain conditions, to which you get a normal looking, normal status goose that lays bronze eggs (Priced by weight, solid bronze goose egg = very heavy.), as the goose improves, eggs become silver, then gold and then just steadily increase in value. The conditions of receiving a golden egg are unknown to the player, but set a certain value to it that really requires the player to work for it and really engage them to earn the golden goose. (You could even have it so the goose lays platinum eggs… and have an in-game contained economy system that affects the resell value of Harvestables/Craftables.)

Now to balance the gameplay, animals and plants get diseases, there are droughts, and contaminants from the environment, pollution, pests, infestations, every kind of setback feasible can & will crop up. Animal pest: Snakes and weasels poach chickens, (I refuse to use wolves here, it is just wrong) Coyotes poach sheep and sometimes cows. In addition, if you must be goofy, throw in a chupacabra. It eats all three, and if a sim sees it, they risk becoming prematurely grey haired or death by fright, right on the spot.  (What happened to death by Flies, it was funny to see dirty Sims pay the ultimate price for being lazy slobs)

Slider system enhanced
POSTED ON 05/25/12
It's me again, with an idea...again

I had a thought about the Body modification sliders in CAS. They'd added the weight, Muscle tone, and now Bust size sliders. Why, then , don't they take it a step further and add something to adjust shoulder width, waist line, hip width and bum size  & roundness.

Now allow me to expand on this, not all people have wide or narrow should expanse. Some have a big build and narrow shoulders, or the skinny nerdy guy with football player's shoulders. Or that skinny girl who looks like a twig except for her really big butt. Or those women who are pudgy, have a tummy and then a small, flat bum on the backside.

These slider features would make for truly customized sims, of literally all shapes and sizes.

Also a height slider would be neat, but I assume it isn't possible with the current game's abilities as software.
