New Homes are coming to my page.
POSTED ON 05/16/10
Several new homes are coming. Most are pretty simple and small compared to the homes on my page now. Except for the Deluxe version of the Wellington Mansion. It takes the outdoor pool and places it inside. There is also a small workout room. I\'ll try to get them uploaded today, if the Exchange doesn\'t cause any issues.

Trying out Images in blog.

Hmmm. I really don\'t like making stories on the site, but I do like the size of pics in my blog. It seems awkward to work with though.

Ugh...nevermind. It crops my widescreen images. It\'s also blurry.

Ideas for Eps
POSTED ON 05/11/10
I replied to a thread asking for ideas for expansion packs. I\'m recording it here so I can compare it to what actually happens with TS3 and its expansions.

Assuming that TS3 will get 8 Eps, like TS2 did, I would combine the\r\nbest features of the TS2 EPs and free up the ability to give us new EPs\r\nwhile delivering what we liked from TS2.

So...

1) World Adventures
(A different spin on Bon Voyage.)

2) Ambitions
(Go to work with your sims. Something new...sorta--sounds a bit like Superstar to me as far as the work aspect goes.)

3) University/Nightlife/Apartment Life.
Higher Education is back with three different ways to pursue it.

(A) \r\nYou could simply keep your young adults at home and have them attend a\r\nrabbit hole college. (The rabbit hole is open to adults as well if they\r\nwant to climb the career ladder faster.)

(B) \r\nYour sim could move to a University which is located in a College town.\r\nLike TS2 there are several to choose and visit. There can also be a\r\nrivalry between the different schools. The towns have a lot of\r\ninteractive entertainment and dining community lots. The objects for\r\nthese community lots are available for your home town as well. Dating,\r\nchemistry, and group outings are back. Dorms and Greek houses are back,\r\nbut you now have the option of apartment living as well. Apartment are\r\navailable for your home town too. It will be great to be able to visit\r\nother dorms, homes, apartments, and Greek houses. Time does not advance\r\nin the home town when you are at the college town, but if you return to\r\nthe hometown to play other sims, age and college progression will\r\ncontinue as you play the hometown sims. Turn aging and story\r\nprogression off to avoid this. Your sims can get the typical benefits\r\nof TS2 college experience. More wish slots, faster career ladder climb,\r\nmore career options, but their life is also affected by their \"college\r\nexperience\". This is colored by what school they went too, what\r\norganizations they joined, their overall relationships with the student\r\nbody, what opportunities they succeeded or failed at, and how well they\r\ndid in school.

(C) You\r\ncan stay with the parents and have them send the kids away to college.\r\nThey will phone home, ask for your sim to send money, and come home to\r\nvisit periodically. They will have dilemmas and need your input. How\r\nthey get through them will depend on your sim\'s traits, their traits,\r\nhow you respond them, and a certain degree of randomness. You can help\r\nthem decide to live in a dorm, join a fraternity, join a secret\r\nsociety. You can also visit the campus to see how things are going for\r\nthem, meet the other students, suggest that they get to know another\r\nstudent better . Or try to get them to break up with someone you\r\ndon\'t think is right for them. Do what you can to influence any\r\norganizations to accept them if they are having a difficult time.

4) Something new.

5) Seasons/Pets/ With a touch of Makin\' Magic
Seasons\r\nare back along with seasonal activities, cats, dogs, critters that are\r\nactive in various seasons, and farm animals. 120 x 120 lots can be used\r\nas a mini farm. Where\'s the magic? A carnival visits the town in early\r\nSpring, Summer, and Autumn. There are a few rides, games with prizes to\r\nbe won, fortune tellers with fates that could come true for your sims,\r\nand Magical spell books, objects, and ingredients to buy. As you learn\r\nmagic you can challenge the NPC magical sims to feats of magic. If you\r\nimpress them them they will teach powerful magic spells. Magic can be\r\npassed on genetically to their children. Depending on the child,\r\nentirely new spells can be inborn to them. NPCs, both beneficial and\r\nwicked roam your town whenever the carnival visits. If you don\'t want\r\nthe carnival to visit your town, or don\'t want magic, organize a\r\nprotest at city hall. You can make the carnival skip your town, or just\r\nthe magic elements. Or you can simply remove the lot that the carnival\r\nsets up on.

6) Something new.

7) Freetime/Open for Business
New\r\nhobbies for our sims. If they get particular good at their hobbies they\r\ncan turn them into a business. My car restoration sims will start their\r\nown \"Overhaulin\" Garage. Imagine every car and motorcycle in the game\r\nwith the ability to swap out a collection of parts and give them custom\r\npaint jobs and make a very different looking vehicle.

8 ) Something new.
