Working on a New World, Spring. 4/17/13
POSTED ON 04/12/13
Just got started on a new world.  Its going to be called Spring Valley.  I can't say much about it yet, other than its a small city with a spring theme.    However, Its going to be mostly suburbs and its not going to have any really tall buildings, so it won't be like Bridgeport.  Parts of Spring Valley will even feel more like a small town than a big city, so people who usually don't like city worlds may still really enjoy playing with it.

I was actually going to make a different world, called Skyline that would be a very big city, but it felt too overwhelming early on, and I had promised myself I would take it easy after Norton with all its tombs.  I might go back to working on that one after I finish Spring Valley, than again, I won't make any promises.  Obviously Spring Valley won't have any tombs, hope no one is too disappointed.  Tombs are not easy to make, and they tend to drastically increase the time it take to play test a world, but you could add some, if you would like.  That said, Spring Valley will still have some world adventures specific lots, such as the academy and nectary.  Its also going to be my first world that doesn't include every single one of the Late Night bar/club venues.   I really can't include all of them, and most of the lots from every other expansion pack without the town feeling like a ghost town, unless there are a ridiculous number of sims.  I don't want to have to include well over two hundred sims in the saved game file.  I could make a second saved game file for high end machines, and I even thought about doing that, but I don't want to create a lot more houses.  I've had to create more than I originally intended already, just so I could make sure there would be enough sims, and there would be enough empty houses left over for other people to add their own, including some single and multi bedroom starter homes.  I intend on including at least one or two cheep three and four bedroom starter houses, just because I have a pet peeve about people only including one bed room starter homes.  There will also be some empty apartments downtown for those in need of low income housing.

I feel bad that I don't have any pictures of Spring Valley yet.  However, I feel its too early in the creation process for you to get a good idea of what it is supposed to looks like.   Its going to be a bit more optimized than my previous worlds, but what I've done so far looks really pretty in my opinion.   Its going to include content from ever expansion pack up to University.  There's going to be a bowling alley, and a book store/coffee hybrid lot with book registers and a barista bar, in addition to many other community lots, including a hybrid festival/performance park like the one in Star Light Shores.  Not sure if it will include any Island Paradise content.

As soon as I think its close to done
