Hi everyone! I’ve just started learning ukulele and I’m honestly a bit lost with all these chords. Some guides show like 10–15 chords right away and it feels overwhelming for my fingers and memory. I just want to play something simple that actually sounds good, not just random practice.
Can anyone recommend a beginner-friendly approach or maybe how you personally started? Did you focus on songs or just practice chords separately at first?

Yeah, don’t try to learn everything at once, it just slows you down. Start with 3–4 basic chords like C, G, Am, F and practice switching between them smoothly. It’s much easier when you learn through songs, not just drills. You can easily start with checking out ukulele chords , it has simple songs and clear chord charts, so you can practice and actually enjoy the process at the same time.

Ukulele becomes really fun once your fingers get used to it. At first it feels awkward, but then you suddenly start switching chords without thinking. I usually just play in the evening to relax, even simple chords sound great.
Just don’t rush and enjoy it, that’s the most important part.
