You can't grow without Change

The changes to My Page are now out. I know this isn't all of them but why does it have to be exactly like Facebook? I hate Facebook and I don't want to have to deal with the same spamming as Facebook when it comes to the Sims. I used to check the Sims site daily or multiple times a day but if they don't get some filtering options in place soon, I probably won't be checking it out at all. Not even for sales or anything else. Is all the creativity gone from EA that now they have to copy the Facebook design instead of being original and come up with their own? I personally like the old format much better. I mean really, is this going to now become a Facebook game? If so, they have lost a long term player and one that has spent a lot of money on the Sims. I hate Facebook games. FB games make it so you HAVE to buy points to even get any achievements and if I see this happening with the Sims, bye bye Sims. At least now the store content is optional. The EPs and SPs are optional as one can play the base game without these and still have a great time and achieve whatever they are trying to achieve with the Sims. People may say there's always 3rd party sites...not if they are going the route it appears EA is going. The game is going to be downgraded instead of progressing. I've always heard you can't grow without changing...well, that all depends on if the change is for the better or not. So far, the changes I'm seeing are not for the better and actually seem to be killing the Sims.
Vampires

I haven't been playing with vampires but now I have a decision to make. While playing Lunar Lakes one of my alien sims (created by me since EA didn't supply any) has a vampire daughter. Should she stay a vampire or should I buy some of the special potion to turn her back like I do with other vampires when they come into my story line? I don't this one seems like I may have to try the vampire thing. She has gray eyes which is different probably because her dad has alien eyes and the mom has vampire eyes.
To port or not to port

I watched the video on Showtime. I'm hoping the new MyPage will allow me to group friends somehow so I'll know which one's want to see my Sims in their game and which one's don't. I don't want to lose friends if I do decide to port. I'll play with on-line off the most but it looks like if I want any of the additional items I'll be FORCED to port. Why are they making it necessary to socialize to get these items? This is not what Sims was about. Sims is supposed to simulate real-life and in real-life you have those that prefer not to socialize. Luckily I still have the option to cut this feature off but unless there are some sort of cheats to unlock the the porting items then I'll be forced to do this (or go without of course). This is why people end up using hacks and custom content which I prefer not to do as it does end up messing up my game. Even if I do download from well-known sites such as TSR or Mod the Sims, I end up with some sort of bad content that messes my game up. If any of my friends are reading this and do not want me to port my sim to your game, please comment to let me know. I'll keep a spreadsheet or something if the new MyPage doesn't provide the listing options like FB does. Since the new MyPage looks like FB I'm just assuming we will have the listing option. I just don't see the use in having all the notifications as we all know with Sims, the actions are repetitive and nothing to really say Oh wow did you see that? I'd say yeah, it happens all the time no big deal. I just wish they would make a separate Sims-OnLine and not make the main Sims that way. But I do have the option to quit playing it and if they start concentrating more on the on-line feature verses the ability to create then I will. The main reason I play Sims is because it allows me to be creative with building, creating Sims and stories. I really could care less about interacting with 'real people' while playing Sims. Sims is my escape from reality so why do I want to be connected to real people while playing it?

Looks like the weathermen were right. It's snowing! Expecting 4-8". The good thing is it appears to only be sticking to the grass and not the roads! That means work tomorrow. Snow always reminds me of Seasons for Sims 2. I really miss Sims2. Probably should have kept it instead of passing it on. I remember a home I had in Sims2 where they had a hot tub in their 'sun room'. So, they could enjoy the warmth of their hot tub while watching the snow fall. I don't have much faith that any 'seasons' for Sims3 will be as good. I have to say, Sims2 seems to be the best of the Sims so far. (at least in my opinion). Probably when they come out with Sims 4 I'll say Sims 3 is the best :-).
The Underground

I have a fascination with small lots. Interesting to see just what can be done on one. My latest creation was to fill in some gaps in one of my worlds. It's a 10x10 lot behind a Duplex. The Duplex is also on a 10x10 lot so they don't have a yard. I placed 'The Underground' right behind it. Now the residents can feel like they have a garden or sneak underground for a drink and/or skinny dip!
Snow tomorrow?

Well, not much time for Sims today. Been running errands with my hubby in 55 degree weather. Can't believe they are calling for 4-6" of snow tomorrow. I believe that one when I see it! Anyhow, I do like playing the Lunar Lakes World even if it's not 'realistic' with the animals & cars and such. I like the scenery. I'll probably be hanging mostly in the wooded areas as that's what I like most. That's the reason I bought Hidden Springs as it was more 'nature' oriented :-). Funny how I love technology but love nature too. The two don't really compliment each other very well. Been spending what time I've had adding content to Lunar Lakes and a custom world I downloaded. Really appreciate those Simmers that create CC free content especially on the small lots as the small lots on the only one's I seem to be able to place in the EA worlds without them looking funny. Hope everyone is enjoying their day and Sims :-).

Finally! They ran a DD on something I actually didn't have. Now I have achieved something for the day...well that and finally getting some legal documents signed/filed which I hope will allow me to sleep better nights. Yes, next on my list is Lunar Lakes. It's on sale and may be more than it's worth but it's a new look!

Well, I guess I'm still waiting for a daily special I can buy. I can't remember when Lunar Lakes will come out but I hope it's tomorrow and I hope it's a daily special and doesn't sell out before I can get it. I only need a daily special to finish up the treasure hunt!
I'm not too excited about Lunar Lakes but like most Simmers, I want the new content. Very disappointed that there are no new insects,fish,cars or animals. So, I've decided when I do buy this I'll just change the story line to be about Sims that went for a new space voyage vacation, got lost in space and when they return they find a whole new look. I can explain the sun difference with possibly a nuclear war or something discoloring the sky or maybe some sort of natural disaster that messed up the gravity as well as the sky coloration :-).
I don't usually use any of the families that come with a world. I actually evict them and put my own in. Wish EA would just spend more time on content such as new items, interactions, etc than buildings & families. These I can get off the exchange or create myself. :-)

Thank you to proudmama4boyz, mene,KEEKERS, marylou2242 and springfalls for accepting my friend requests. Now I'm well on my way to finishing up the treasure hunt. I'm wondering if they will run a daily deal on something I don't own! That's what I get for buying everything too soon. I do prefer waiting till they group them all into a collection and just buy everything at one time. Maybe they will at least put Lunar Lakes on sale. I think they should give us credit for meeting the daily sale option if we already own everything...right? Oh well. Probably won't play Sims tonight as it's Valentine's day and my hubby did surprise me with a dozen yellow roses (my fav), box of chocolates and card. We had said we weren't buying for each other so wonder what he expects in return? ......;-)
Treasure Hunt

Well, I've earned a reward and not even sure how so I guess I'll try for the treasure hunt...only if I get a new friend though as the rest I can achieve I know. So, if you get a friend request from me please accept. Once I get the credit for the treasure hunt you can delete me if you want. I'm not someone that will pester you :-). I'm an older simmer (over 40 and that's all I'll say). I do recommend content that I download.

I've discovered blogging...well not really. I knew about blogging just never did too much of it. May start though as I did finally figure out how to add pictures to a blog. I haven't uploaded Shaggy as one of my creations but I may after posting the Valentine's photo's. Seems my male creations get more downloads than my female one's. :-) I have today off from work but leaving soon to take my mom to her doctor appointment. Not enough time to boot up Sims to play so I'm just checking out the exchange and playing around with blogging!

Broke down and pre-ordered Showtime today :-). Not getting Kerry Perry addition as I'm not a huge fan of hers and it's not worth the extra bucks for what few additional items come with it.
