Create A World
POSTED ON 02/09/10
I\'ve been hanging in the C-A-W forum a LOT lately because it\'s been a great source of information on using the Create A World tool. I have a couple of worlds in progress, one I\'m not even talking about really other than to say it is a major under-taking. It involves tons of meticulous detail and trying to get everything placed just right. Another will be a revamp of Riverview, put together the way it started developing in my mind as I played the Riverview map, but couldn\'t do anything about it because so many of the lot sizes were so particular there just weren\'t options for moving things around. Both Sunset Valley and Riverview have features I love but both also have things I grew to extremely dislike.

Aside from my main project, which will pretty much have to have a lot of things rather locked into place for authenticity, I am hoping that every world I create will give its players choices. For example, it just isn\'t right to be stuck keeping your science center or stadium in one single spot because the only other options are replacing your central park or military base which is obviously locked in to its location because of the air strip behind it.

My ideal town gives me pretty scenery and terrain features, a lot of interesting places to explore, and flexibility in lot placement. It also has at least three or four 60x60 lots because I usually start the family I play Legacy style so I want them on a huge lot from the get-go. I don\'t necessarily enjoy building huge houses so much as I want them to have nice yards that they can landscape with trees, flowers, ponds, etc.
