Like a yoyo.

I admit, it was too great a temptation to resist, all those downpriced expansion packs. So I bought them all, the remaining ones I did not have. I 'saved' money.
The thing is, I have been playing nThe Sims 2 again, with great success and enjoyment. So I thought, well, what was so bad about the sims 3?
On my first game in the sims 3, my game crashed at saving the game. It immediately corrupted the neighbourhood I saved. The second neighbourhood I started up, worked fine, but I still can't play as smoothly as in the sims 2. Also: why why why is that car spawning thing not fixed? I have a small neighbourhood, and already cars are piling up in parking lots!
So, that was what was so bad about the sims 3. And I have not added any of my modifcation to the game yet. Just because I trusted the developers of the game to fix things that have been broken for YEARS now.
Because you kow, I work with developers, peeople who code, and we too put out a software package. And bugs actually get fixed. And users/buyers of the product get listened to. And though not every wish is implemented, the ones that make sense are.
So in The Sims 3, we get unlimited spawning cars, and unneeded washing machines (I mean: who actually puts them in their game? Hm?), and gameplay that is not gameplay.
I have been trying! I am trying to come up with a strategy to really PLAY. But so far, the only thing that TS3 is marginally better at than TS2 is housebuilding. Gameplay is what I get from TS2.
So. Where does that leave me? I have 2 games, which I would love to see combined. But everything I love in TS2 has not been incorporated into TS3, and everything I love about TS3 is not available in TS2.
And do I even care about the sims 4? No. I am so sorry, but I can't muster the energy to be enthusiastic about another sims game. I am too afraid it will be fudged up. The few screenshots I have seen leave me cold. I think they are taking the fun out of building in the sims 4, which would make sense. Take the one thing I absolutely adore about TS3 and just rip that out of the new game. I think the sims customisation options are unneeded. I already take way too long to create a sim I am happy with in TS3; more options is not going to make me happy.
I will have to find other games to keep me happy. I mean, games with actual gameplay would be nice.Not a glorified dress up game with houses.
