Today, we officially announced The Sims 3 Roaring Heights, an all-new world releasing from The Sims 3 Store on December 12. The Sims 3 Roaring Heights is a sparkling city nestled by the beach where Sims will experience an exuberant life amidst breathtaking Art Deco architecture. Here, Sims will dress in beautifully tailor-made designs from ritzy summer frocks to star-studded evening gowns, fine fedoras, new swimwear and more.

The Sims Studio’s World Designer, @SimGuruSparkle on Twitter, wrote up today’s blog to introduce you to some of the classical fashions that will take your Sims into the golden days of The Sims 3 Roaring Heights.

Read on below and tell us which fashion you’re most excited to see your Sim wearing. Be sure to check this space next week as we’ll be posting two more blogs about cool new features that can only be found in The Sims 3 Roaring Heights.

The Daily ROAR!

Taking fashion to new heights since 1928.

Frock Shock!

Heads turned and brows were raised when famed local novelist Virginia Supine was spotted venturing into Luminous, the juice bar on Beach Drive, without a male escort. Oblivious to the gasps and attention she was attracting, Ms. Supine took out a novel and proceeded to read it as if she had not a care in the world. Startled observers are still whispering to one another about the day they first saw a woman wearing pants!

Citizens Take the Plunge!

Immodesty is not a word that concerns the citizens of Roaring Heights as is evidenced by the new fashion in poolside attire. Gentlemen brazenly lead the way by casting the dated all-in-one bathing suit asunder, baring their chests and parading their muscly getaway sticks for all to see in these new-fangled high-waist swimming trunks. Although the ladies haven’t gone quite as far, their hemlines have risen and plenty of pretty pins are on display down by the ocean.

“Quite frankly”, stated Gil McGinnis, who sports his new bathing trunks in a classy blue tweed style, “anyone who doesn’t like this new swimwear is absolutely nothing more than a wet blanket!”

Curl up in the Sun !

This summer ladies are pinning their hopes on irresistible new hairstyles that are all the rage. There are so many ways to wave, bob and style ones locks using the  salon techniques du jour, it’s hard to decide which one might suit the most. The beauty of it is, you can change your mind at any time and try a pin curl or a finger wave for a different look.  Bad hair days are never a problem, simply cover up with an exotic turban until your next wet set and style.

Don’t High-Hat This One !

Chaps should not feel left out in the headwear department, because for the gentlemen who prefer to cover up their tresses in style, there’s a jaunty new lid in town and it’s called the Fine Fedora…

Thomas LaFontaine demonstrates his Fine Fedora swagger.

Getting Spiffy With it !

They say horses sweat, gentleman perspire and ladies merely glow. Ladies are definitely aglow, gents are too, when decked out in the latest in all-white Athletic gear. In fact, there is something for the whole family. You’ll look absolutely spiffy on your next jaunt to the gymnasium if you follow suit.

The Picard Family look alright in all white.

Glad Rags!

You’ll be right on trend with these ritzy new summer frocks. The nautical look will be popular with teens and adults alike, down by the shorefront.  But if you want something a little more formal and flouncy, look no further than the Beautiful Bowed dress. The flattering outfit comes in so many different color combinations, you might never want to wear another style.

Nancy and Frances Picard like to dress up in the latest looks.

Putting on the Ritz Tonight

The cat’s will absolutely meow when they see the glamorous new range of movie-star inspired evening wear designed for the upcoming party season. You’ll be backing a winning design if you choose a gown to show off your shoulders.  The tailoring is exquisite and the attention to detail second to none. It’s time to have a ball!

Artsy Fartsy

Women may be wearing the pants these days, but men are starting to have an edge too. Those who dare are dropping formalities, dispensing with starched collars and stuffy shirts and sporting a more casual look to compete with their female counterparts. We spotted eccentric artist Francisco Battista leaving the movie theater wearing a cosy looking example of this more informal attire.
