This old house was once the largest house in Appaloosa Plains, and many years later fell into disrepair, to the point that is was no longer inhabitable. A major fire burned the barn to the ground and severely damaged the house. It was going to be demolished because of the fire, but the house had become such an icon that it sparked a major renovation effort to repair the sad home, which was the single event that brought the whole community together.
