EA\'s lousy customer service
I recently pre-ordered the new Pets expansion pack as EA had sent me a discount code for 25 percent off of my order. I processed the order and it was accepted. No problem right? Wrong. I checked my bank account and EA charged me full price for the EP. I had my email that showed the proof of purchase, the amount of charges, and the order information. I contacted customer service, what a joke. I was told that the discount could not be used for pre-orders. No where on the email, even in the fine print, which I read all of, does it state that pre-orders are excluded. The order processed with the discount and EA just decides to go ahead and collect the full amount from my bank.I am beyond livid concerning this matter and I emailed EA hoping that we could get this issue resolved. No such luck. I got a response telling me again that I was not allowed to use the code for a pre-order, no offer to refund the overcharge, nothing.
Be forewarned that EA\'s business practices are shady. Just because you don\'t authorize a charge does not mean that EA will not go ahead and collect whatever amount that they see fit. I would love just to cancel the entire order and get a refund but since EA already has my money I have no way to ensure that I would ever get a refund. I\'ve already found out that they can\'t be trusted. For all I know they would just not send the merchandise and not refund the money either.
