Sharing on Facebook (in-game) and a crashing game
POSTED ON 09/11/11
I\'ve now installed all the EPs and SPs, so I\'m up to date with the game, until Pets is out.. I was having a look at all the new stuff, and picked a premade sim to play. Everything was going fine, until I discovered the option to share in-game stuff on Facebook.

I logged in to Facebook from the game (which I didn\'t really like, btw - I\'d have preferred it to just contact Facebook, and if logged in there, it could have asked for permission to add the app..), and then minimised the game to go and see how the shared stuff looked on Facebook.

Fine, it was all good.. But when I shared another thing, soon after that, my game froze on me. I gave it a while, in case it was just a temporary thing, but no.. Nothing would happen, I had no controls, and couldn\'t even get to the desktop, so I had to kill the game with the Windows Task Manager.

Today, I launched the game again, and all seemed well, until I did something with my sim that gave me the option to share it on Facebook. I shared, and soon after that, the game froze again - Task Manager was needed.

The next time I play, I\'m not going to attempt to share anything on Facebook, and let\'s see if the game will continue working normally - or not..

OK, I\'ve just played for ages, without sharing anything on Facebook, and it was working fine. So, it really seems to be the Facebook feature that causes the crash.
Almost up to date with EPs and stuff packs now..

I haven\'t played The Sims 3 in a long, long time, and I don\'t think I\'ll be playing it much anymore (=other things in my life..), BUT.. It\'s still the best building tool, and I do love to design and build houses, gardens, etc.. So, I kind of wanted to have my game up to date.

The other day, I had time to kill before my tattoo appointment, so I found myself in a game store, and bought two EPs and one stuff pack! I haven\'t installed them yet as I was actually overcharged for one item, and have to go back to the shop with the games, but while I\'m there, I think I\'ll probably get the last missing stuff pack as well, and then I\'ll have it all - except for Pets, which hasn\'t been released yet!

I actually wanted to critisise The Sims 3 store, too.. I think that their prices are way too high ! For example, they recently introduced Hidden Springs.. Its regular price is 2,450 SimPoints , and the current sale price is 2,250 SimPoints .

For me, the only option to buy SimPoints, would be to pay by mobile. OK, clicking on that link gives me one option only: 175 SimPoints for \u20AC2.50 . To get 2,250 SimPoints (=enough to buy Hidden Springs), I\'d have to do 13 separate purchase actions on my phone, which would cost me \u20AC32.50 . (That\'s USD 45.80 ). TOO MUCH! After all, we are talking about a neighbourhood - a custom addition from their online store. Not an EP, not a stuff pack. Yet, you can actually get whole EPs, cheaper than that.

I also think that most of the smaller items (=clothing, furniture, etc.) is priced too high.
