I keep comming back to the forums each day in the hope that pinstar has posted his new legacy rules for TS3. Im eager to start as its my favorite playstyle.
\r\nWhat I know so far is you need to start a single young adult sim which you have free reign to make however you like then buy the $14,700 lot either in sunset valley or riverview. This leaves you with $1,300 starting funds.
\r\nI tested out what I could do with that and purchased a 3 x 3 building with a door a bed and a light. I then spent some time figuring out how to do things around town if you cant do them at home. Its quite fun having a sim living like a hobo, showering and using the toilet at the pool, picking wild growing fruits to eat and using the library to build skills for work. I would never have tried to play in this way if it wasn\'t for the Legacy challenge thread.
\r\nAnyhow after getting a young adult up to his first age transition I managed to establish a 3 room house, get 4 promotions at work and build his skills a little so its now getting a little easier. I have left my game at that point so that I can start working with the rules and scoring system when they are posted. i dont want to run the risk of going too far without the rules and doing something I shouldn\'t have done and need to start over.
\r\nWaiting for Sunday and crossing my fingers that nothing happens to pospone Pinstar posting his legacy rules.
Well after playing the game for a week i\'m impressed.
\r\nI love the new personality traits system and the way the neighbourhood lives along side your family.
\r\nI was a little anoyed at first about the story progression turned off option not working as I had created 3 households in the same neighbourhood and found it a little frustrating to come back to a family and find they were now elders with an adopted child.
\r\nI decided to create a new family in Riverview and play legacy style with a single family through several generations and get the feel of how the living neighbourhood works and finding I realy enjoy the change in gameplay style from having static unaging NPCs to those that grow up at the same rate as your sim. It is quite different from how we are all used to playing the sims so I hope the developers dont get discoraged from the negative feedback from people that dont like change.
\r\nNow that I\'ve gotten the hang of the new gameplay style my next project is a new game in sunset valley starting a legacy game with a self sim and screenshotting it as a story as it progresses. Sort of use it as a test of the story creation tools with this website.
\r\nLet there be sims.
