Hopefully get a chance to play this weekend!
POSTED ON 06/11/09
So as it turned out I had to travel for business days after the Sims 3 release. I\'ve managed to spend a little time playing and exploring the new features, but this weekend I hope to get some quality time in.

I can\'t wait to see the new legacy rules that Pinstar is working on. One of the problems I had staying with legacies in the Sims 2 was what to do with all the \"spares\". I tried just placing them in their own lot and leaving them, but then it just seemed odd seeing first generation spares still the same age when the legacy lot was on generation five for example. I tried playing the spares in a rotational method, but then by the time I\'d get back to the legacy lot I\'d have forgotten what was going on with it. With the story progression mode of the Sims 3, legacies seem a natural play style.

I can\'t see the Prosperity Challenge working so well without turning off story progression and because I\'m on a Mac, I there isn\'t a way to turn it off (the PC users have a workaround for the bug).

Overall, I  like the Sims 3. I really like the new social interactions and personality traits. The lot building tools are fantastic (I love the ability to stretch walls/rooms) and I really love being able to customize/colorize objects. But, I do seem to have some performance issues. When I give my Sim an action it is almost as if he/she needs to think on it a bit before executing. I see others are having similar issues, so I\'m hoping there is a patch in the works.
