Patching complete...

Today there was a patch in the land of the sims3. All the sims rejoiced as it downloaded smoothly into their coding, and make a few issues disappear....
As you can tell from my typing above EA did release a patch and it\'s working fine for me. Some people are having issues with the patch and simgurus are already on the case in the technical forum.
Some problems are:
1) Invalid File error, usually this has to do with mods.
a) Take mods out of game, make a backup of them
b) Then install patch from EA downloader
2) EA downloader not working, simgurus are aware of this so they say on the technical forums and are testing it to find a solution.
3) People don\'t want to download the EA downloader.
a) I\'m guessing, as they did with spore, their will be other ways to download patch either through EA or through the community.
The latest version of the game should now be: V. 1.2.7 after patch
Also the patch fixes these issues: (from the \"Game Updates\" area of the site)

- Addresses some issues with Speed 2 and 3 moving too slowly. Some machines will have better results when using Speed 2 and 3 now.
- Fix to story progression on/off selection toggle.
- Fix for a possible crash with audio code.
- Fix for babysitter routing off lots with babies.
- Addresses some issues with Vsync and refresh rate problems.
- Addresses some issues with DVD authentication errors and drive compatibility on startup.
- This update deals with some issues on Mac systems that can crash the game while connecting to AFP servers.
- Fix for a freeze that can occur when Sims attempt to clean out bad food from the fridge.
Calling Mysterious Ambrosia...

Things are progressing well in my game. Portia and Angelo are setting out their business. Angelo has made it to level nine in his career as a cop. Portia, on the other hand, is desperately seeking ambrosia. Ambrosia gives you a positive moodlet, as well as adding time to your sim\'s life. It actually clears an entire age bar, so you start over. For example, Portia is six days to an elder with ambrosia she will be just starting her Adult life. To get ambrosia one has to do the following:
1) Max Fishing (Portia did that) to be able to fish a deathfish
2) Max Gardening to be able to do opportunity for life fruit (Portia did that) or find a life fruit in the catacombs
3) Max Cooking (one more skill point left) to be able to buy the ambrosia recipe for 12,000.
Basically Portia is having troubles getting the deathfish, as it is very rare and only comes out between 12am-5am at the graveyard. After that though, she is on her way to living a much fuller life!

I introduce to you Portia Johnson, she is the first sim I have made in sims3. I have played her for two days now. Little more about her...
Traits: Family Oriented, Mooch, Green Thumb, Artistic
Life time wish: To plant eight different perfect quality plants.
Career Path: Science
Yesterday she married the maid, and maxed out her gardening skill. She also has grown four perfect plants, with four more to go she\'s doing pretty well. Portia is actually based on my sim-friend. ;)
In other news one thing I do miss is the story album. I liked doing stories in game, as it keeps a family \"fresh.\"

I thought it would be appropriate to talk about the present in today\'s blog, seeing as I have already typed about the past and future. ;) Today in particular I now have sims3 on my computer. I now also have my free sim points for the store.
Today I am feeling pretty good about myself. The shiny plumbob USB is a nice little bonus on top of everything else. I am enjoying my time with sims3, and I do hope that everyone else enjoys it too. :)

One More Day Closer...

In my last blog I spoke of reflections from my past, today I want to speak more about the future.
For example, tomorrow is when I shall sims3 in my hands, and in my computer. My sweet hubby is picking up at Best Buy during his lunch break and then bringing it home. He is actually going to take the rest of the day off because he wants to see how it works too, this coming from someone who doesn\'t play sims2 hehe.
Right now I am fourteen-weeks pregnant as well, and sims3 will certainly help with time going faster. I will probably be the mother who breastfeeds with two hands, and plays sims3 with my elbows. ;) Our little one will surely grow up knowing what the sims are, now this isn\'t to say sims3 will completely take over me. I know in my heart that baby comes first, then hubby, then rat, then cat, then sims3. I also know at times I will be juggling the baby, and finding some time to myself too. :)
