A cold mountainous island off the coast of Norway, Varfjell is often described as a harsh yet beautiful place. Most of the activity is concentrated within the large castle town resting in the foothills; its name changed numerous times to honor whichever pompous lord occupied its palace. This gimmick ended after the reign of Olaf Tharaldson IV, whose murderous antics greatly diminished the town’s population. Since the dismissal of Tharaldson, the castle town grew and prospered under the control of Lords Melankoli, Sanguine, Koleriske, and Flegmatisk. Regardless, the majority of Vargfjell’s frigid island remains a desolate wasteland, save for some old Viking Settlements and Recluse hideaways.
