Contests and Challenges
POSTED ON 08/27/09

I entered my Sim Zoe Roth in the \"Anti Beauty Contest\".  Well actually I made her for that contest.  I run a vanilla game (no CC) so all those Beauty Contests that are going on seem to rely heavily on CC so I don\'t even think of trying out for any of those contests.  Sadly my Zoe didn\'t win, and there were only 9 entries (5 were the OP\'s entries).  A Tie for 3rd, ha-ha so  if the OP had not participated, my Sim would have been the only loser...hmpfff, oh well it was fun anyway.  Zoe also would have not gotten any votes, but the OP decided to vote and gave me one for Zoe.   Unfortunately I didn\'t even cast a vote for Zoe because after I entered the contest, I wasn\'t able to get back on the forum for a few days, had to deal with real life responsibilities.

Well I was on the forum yesterday and ran across this thread, http://forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/96482.page  ..So I offered up Zoe for that game since he didn\'t want any CC from 3rd party or the EA store.  I just happened to make Zoe with no CC, so she was perfect.  So I shall see how she does if he follows through with his game.  Should be interesting.

The Anti Beauty Contest is running again with male entries this time, hmmm...maybe I should try again!

Well hope you all are having fun with your games.  Happy simming!

Stories
POSTED ON 08/07/09

My Asylum Challenge game is in it\'s second week and I decided it is way to much picture taking to make a story.  I\'ve lost count of the number of pictures I took for the first week.  I uploaded some yesterday and was overwhelmed by the task of trying to organize them and come up with dialog for each picture.  I have a new found respect for the story tellers on this site.  Kudos to you all!  I was getting stressed out just trying to get the \"right\" shot that I was starting not to have fun with the game.  I like the Challenge, but will just stick to playing without trying to make a story.  Like I say with most things maybe I\'ll try that again later! :|

The forum continues to entertain me, people have some pretty nice pictures from their games and have some stories which are very good.  Some comments are funny and other are mean spirited, which is to be expected when you have such a wide range of personalities.  Someone always has to one-up the next person, sometimes it goes to far and feelings get hurt and I just have to shake my head and chuff at the silliness.

\r\n

I was also surprised to see there was another update for the game a 1.4.  I guess EA is really responding to all the complaints and trying to get the game running properly.  I guess it\'s to their advantage to get it in pristine running condition considering they have announced the new EP is being released in November.  Who knows what kind of troubles they will have with the EP...ouch!

\r\n

Well hope everyone is still having fun with their games!

Asylum Challenge
POSTED ON 08/04/09

I\'d been reading the thread about the Asylum Challenge and the stories I read were really funny.  So since I\'ve never given those traits to my Sims I decided to try the challenge.  I wasn\'t going to write a story as my picture taking skills are none to keen and I\'m not sure I have the creativity to come up with dialog for the story.  However I have been taking pictures and will see if I can make some sense of them and may give it a try.

\r\n

Since I have commitment issues as one of my traits (Ha-ha) it makes it difficult for me to even think of committing to 10 chapters for a story.  This is why I never play a Legacy challenge, I can\'t stick to playing one family for too long and never get past the 2ND generation.  I get tired of thinking about what I want the family to do next.  It probably doesn\'t help that I never let my Sims die either, Gads!  I know it\'s crazy, but I get attached to my little Sims..ha-ha.

I also want to comment on a story I read earlier.  It was well written and the pictures were great.  I saw many thanks to the writer, the writer then posted a comment.  The statement was both a I care/I don\'t care what you think, thanks anyway.  I guess sometimes it\'s good to say thanks and sometimes \"silence is golden\".
