Tottenham set the sale price for Giovani Lo Celso (27).
British ‘Football Insider’ said on the 1st (Korean time), “Tottenham will be willing to listen to offers for Lo Celso in the winter transfer window in January. “The transfer fee for Lo Celso set by Tottenham is 15 million pounds (about 24.5 billion won),” the report said.
Lo Celso is a midfielder from Argentina. Lo Celso develops the attack in midfield with his outstanding ball possession skills and forward passing ability. He went on to Rosalio Central (Argentina) and Paris Saint-Germain (France) before wearing a Tottenham uniform on loan in the 2019-20 season.
Tottenham were satisfied with Lo Celso's performance and confirmed his permanent signing in January 2020. The transfer fee at the time was 32 million euros (about 45.5 billion won). However, Lo Celso was unable to improve his performance due to repeated injuries. He eventually went on loan to Villarreal in the second half of the 2021-22 season and continued his career in Spain until last season.
Lo Celso returned to Tottenham ahead of this season and dreamed of a rebound. However, even under manager Enze Postecoglou, Lo Celso fell away from the starting lineup. With James Madison firmly established, Pape Sar and Yves Bissouma also received the trust of coach Postekoglou.
Naturally, Lo Celso's opportunities to participate in games decreased. Lo Celso made only two league substitute appearances and played only 24 minutes while Tottenham led the English Premier League (EPL) in the 2023-24 season. He started as a starter in the League Cup against Fulham, but was replaced after the first half.
With Rodrigo Bentancur recently returning from injury, Lo Celso is expected to leave the team this winter.
The media said, “Because Tottenham does not participate in European competitions, they only play one league game a week. This means there is no reason to use Lo Celso in the rotation. “The separation from Tottenham is approaching,” he explained.
