Island Paradise

Ran out to Target to get my copy of Island Paradise! 
Didn't want to chance pre-ordering from Origin even with their incentive objects, don't always get the game on release day with them and once I had to wait two weeks after the U.S. release date. 
So I've downloaded the game, registration reward & Limited Edition content ...and no surprise I don't see my game icon on my page even though it says I registered my game.
Oh well I'm off to go lurk on the forums for awhile and then will load up my game and check out the new world in Island Paradise!

Edit: I just looked at my page again & my IP icon is there now! Yipppeee!

I am sooo thrilled to actually win something. 
Sent my info to EA so they can mail me my gift, can't wait to see what it is, but I'm just happy to win.

I tried to get Ro to post his pic before the deadline, but being a perfectionist about his pics he missed the deadline by a hair!

Island Paradise

It's less than a week away until the release of Island Paradise. 
I watched the LB yesterday and it looks like this EP should have a lot of fun and interesting things to do. 
I know we will be able to run a resort, I guess that's a nod to Open for Business in TS2 ...I just don't think I'll be interested in running a resort, but of course that could change after I get the game.
Anyway they also said that kids will be able to drive boats and ski jets 
which is probably a good thing if you live off on an uncharted island or on a house boat, but I thought you could call for a water taxi?! 
Oh well I guess at least they have more stuff for kids to do. 
They also released the new patch, which added the new ladder and fixed a bunch of other problems from the other EP's & SP's. I patched my game and I already see a problem that I didn't have before.
My Sim isn't gaining any skill points when they play the violin. 
I know some people had that problem before the patch, but I didn't. 
Sigh, if it's not one thing it's another that goes wrong. 
Then they also discussed the new look for the Sims in TS4.
One of the design artists was there showing his sketches for the new look for Sims in TS4 and it sorta reminded me of anime. 
I'm not partial to the anime look and wouldn't mind if they made the Sims more realistic ...but then I also know a lot of people don't want our Sims to look realistic. 
All I have to say about that is, have you seen some of the 3rd party CC that is out there?? 
...if you use some of the skins and other stuff in your game, seems like some of those nay sayers of realism are making things pretty realistic with CC in their games already. 
I don't use any 3rd party CC or mods and yes I know you're saying my Avi pics have CC. 
Yes they do, but those Avi shots are taken by my boyfriend and he uses 3rd party CC in his game on his computer and just put's the pics on my computer for me to upload for my Avi pic. 
Anyway, I'm hoping they will tweak the look a lot more before TS4 comes out. 
I'm finally starting to get a little excited about the new EP.
So I guess we are all on countdown til next Tuesday when IP is due to be released, can't wait!

June, My Page & Dragon Valley

Hello June! 
I didn't even realize today was the first of the new month until Ro mentioned it was the first of June this morning! 
I can't believe we have reached the middle of the year already. 
Our weather has been so erratic that it doesn't feel like it's going to be summer soon. The next few days it's supposed to drop back down to the 60's & 70's, which honestly is fine by me since I enjoy the cooler weather, but struggle through the extreme heat & cold. Oh well enough about the weather. 
I'm still missing all those badges I bought from the EA store & all the website achievement badges .
I went over to technical to read what was going on and if they were going to acknowledge the people posting about the trouble and finally a SimGuru posted about the world icons being worked on, but no mention about the stinking badges. 
This place is just falling apart and ruining the fun of even being here. 
I just want to get back what I already owned/earned
. 
My four featured badges, the website achievements and all the badges that were gifted to me & the ones I purchased for real money!
I finally got around to buying DV & the venue.
I'm going to try it out today since I finally have a totally free day to play the game. It's cooler today so it shouldn't get to hot up here in the loft. 
I've been losing interest in the game again, so I hope this new world can renew my interest and make playing this game fun again.
