You know, in the beginning before actually playing Showtime, I wasn't that bothered about genies. Then I got one... and I have to say, they are my absolute favourite occult sim! I actually love them more than the vampires; which, coming from me, means a lot!
I absolutely love their powers, although they are very cheaty (not that I mind, serial cheater that I am!) I love the fact your genie can control other sims, although I rarely do it (unless I want them for something, like proposing to my sim or fighting the hussy who dares to flirt with my sim's boyfriend!) I think 4 hours is plenty time to get done what's needed then carry on as normal.
But why, why are they so OCD about cleaning? Seriously, my current sim married her genie (when I eventually got my girl genie after 7(!) lamps... and I prettied her up (removing the ugly red hair (why do all my genies have red hair?!) amongst other things.)) They currently have six children, all genies (including 3 time travel babies (well, a teenager, a young adult and an elder (who I de-aged via a potion, I mean, who seriously wants a child older than you?!) who were, surprisingly, attractive) They all constantly roll wishes to clean. Themselves, other sims, the house. It's annoying. Don't get me wrong, instant cleaning is amazing, I never have to hire a maid (which unfortunately means I haven't achieved the "hire a maid" badge yet (I wouldn't want to hire one for like, two seconds then fire her, might give the girl a complex or something!) Still, I'm patient, I'll do it... eventually.
The constant wish-cleaning was one thing... but the dogs... Oh the dogs! Dogs are obsessed with genies, they follow them (stalking, really) everywhere, all the time. My sims don't have any other pets, so I don't know about cats, but I do know if I can't find the dog I just need to look for the nearest genie!
All that aside, I don't think I could ever get bored of playing genies, they really are one of the most fun things in the game for me. So glad I decided to give it a try.
So, Simport.... I've been playing Showtime for about a week and not once have I been able to send my sim via Simport.
Hosting worked... a grand total of twice, before I had problems. The sims simply weren't showing up and I had to cancel so I could save. This last time I waited a whole sim-week just incase, still, nothing.
I'm not surprised, really. It's not like I had any delusions of it being perfect. Still, I would like to actually use it sometime in the future. Here's hoping.
I haven't actually tried it yet. I have heard people have had problems, I hope I don't but knowing me...
I am willing to host and hopefully be hosted, it sounds like so much fun!
