My Story
I'm 26 and I've been playing The Sims for over a decade... longer, if you count the *original* Sim City. I like modular buildings and follow Arch Daily (dot com). My favorite thing is to pull features from buildings I see irl and translate them in-game... much easier to do now than in 1 or 2! But still not quite perfect... my homage to Cherry Blossom Lane (the first house I lived in "on my own") is very close... when will Sims have mounted microwaves or closets/closet doors?
Anyway, if you liked one of my houses, please recommend. Also, I blog about it, so check that out, too. :)

I uploaded The Bangorang and The Single today.. play-tested and all, which is something I'm ashamed to say I didn't do for my first three lots. ;_;
I think for a while I will probably work on developing my toons for a while... I feel like, with the modular homes I've been working on, I work too hard to accurately reproduce certain features that don't translate well in game. I should know better... about the whole scale and context thing.
I'm still very proud of my homage to Cherry Blossom lane, and now The Single. I think The Single is my favorite... My friend invited me to a bbq at his friends' home. They had the sweetest garden, and most of the fare, minus the meat, was grown by the gal who owned the house. I didn't actually venture into the bedroom or bathroom, but I assume the layout is something similar to what I made.
Yuniko, my reclusive artist girl, my sort-of alter-ego, is enjoying living there very much.
I love tiny houses. My interest in modular homes began when a friend of mine showed me Tumbleweed Houses. I'm enamored of their compact efficiency. On the other hand, irl, I hope to one day own a good-sized home (read: bigger than a Tumbleweed), because I would like a nice big room in which I could do my Wii Active exercises. Currently, I have to be careful not to hit something if I want to do a thorough follow-through swing in Tennis.

I uploaded my rendition of Paul de Ruiter's Villa Berkel.
I must stay, I think the actual house is much more striking in real life.

I uploaded another house... this time a 2br/2.5ba house on the beach. The exterior is based on the Garden and Sea House. Interior was way too complicated to replicate, what with the stairs and the mirrored windows. I made the front "window" mirrored and the back window normal. I love modular houses. So modern!

Man, I love this game. I can spend hours just building... but I'm so neurotic about it sometimes I wind up leveling all of my lots. Anyway... I built this house based on the first house I lived in "on my own" (read: with 3 friends). I rented there a year, although I only actually lived there for a few months because shortly after moving in I met the guy who would be my fiance. My former house-mates are pretty cool, and all moved on to a spacious though older duplex/condo/thing without me. (Er, the "premium" items are the counters....)
Anyway... my recollection of my house-mates' furnishings/bedrooms is even less accurate since I didn't hang out in their rooms so much. I feel like I got Maggie's room all wrong because I can count on my hand the number of times I've been in there. I do vaguely remember that all of her linens/bath stuff was coordinated, though.
Plus there are lots of empty bits... the downstairs linen closet (where we hid one set of the original owner's ugly-*** orange curtains, as well as the cleaning supplies), and the laundry room (across from the linen closet). I remember in Sims 1 somebody modded statues into washer/dryers...
I wonder if and when they'll add wall-mounted microwave ovens... that'll up my accuracy even more....
Well, there are some captioned screenshots in My Media to go along with it (everything titled "Cherry Blossom [something]").
