Introducing myself

Contrary to popular belief, my name is not Allison, or Ally, or anything like that, and no part of my name even remotely sounds like \"wekl\". It\'s just something I randomly thought up when picking a screen name.

My real name is Dorthea. I was named after my grandma, whose name was Dorothy. I live in Williamsburg, VA with my mom. My dad lives in Nevada, and I visit him often (but every time I go to Vegas, I see something new!). I am my mother\'s only child, but my Dad has 3 other grown children, so I\'m the baby :).

I also am 16 yrs., soon to be 17 on July 18th. I\'m going to be a senior in high school come September 2010! Yeah, I\'m really excited, and I\'m ready to finally get high school over with.

Of course, I love the whole Sims series, and I enjoy playing TS3, and so do my cousins. I\'m really into art- I\'m actually in the middle of an art project right now- and I\'m really good at writing- poems, stories, essays, you name it. I\'m also a bookworm, I\'m always in the middle of a book. You can call me a nerd, it\'s true. :) 

And I\'m really interested in journalism. I plan to be a journalist one day- or more specifically, a producer, hopefully for CNN or another news station. I really do love journalism- I\'m a news junkie, so I\'m always reading or watching the news, and I\'ve been writing for a school paper of sorts since 6th or 7th grade. Twice I have been chosen to be editor-in-chief, once for my middle school paper and (so far) once for my high school paper. I\'ve also won numerous awards.

I guess that\'s about it. I\'m a pretty normal teen girl- even when it comes down to the texting. I\'ve been trying to cut down on texting lately because my Mom just paid last month\'s phone bill, and she was NOT happy. \'Nuff said... :)
