The Crazy Hank Survivalist Challenge

Crazy Hank saw that the Llama market crashed and thinks that this will have a ripple effect that causes the collapse of all society. He estimates that he has about two weeks to prepare for this eventuality. Can you help him be self-sustaining?

The Challenge:

You are given two weeks during which Hank can prepare and do (almost) anything you like. After the two weeks are up, Hank is not allowed to leave his lot, or in fact interact with most of society. How long can you keep Hank self-sufficient? How happy can you make him?

The Rules:

For the first two weeks, you can do almost whatever you like. However, you cannot move. This is the house that Crazy Hank plans to hold out the social upheaval and downfall in. You may also not write books, because Hank doesn\'t think that they\'ll be able to keep paying him once the house of cards economy finally collapses. It is suggested that you begin hoarding necessary supplies, though. Just keep in mind Hank\'s limited cash supply.

After the two weeks you are restricted to these rules:

- Hank cannot leave his property. Society out there is probably chaotic and anarchic.

- Hank cannot write or paint for money. Hank believes society doesn\'t have time for the arts during unrest.

- Hank cannot watch TV or use the Internet. This is mostly solved by him being a technophobe already, but when those companies collapse he won\'t have that resource anyway.

- Hank should not buy food via the refrigerator. He can\'t depend on the organization to grow a surplus of food in these trying times.

- Hank *may* sell food via his inventory\'s interface. After all, it\'s one of the few things of value left in this economy.

- You *may* buy new stuff for Hank. This represents him meeting with traders who come along now and then.

- Hank may not call any services. He may not even have a fire alarm or burglar
alarm. When there isn\'t any government, no one will be able to support those.

- Hank may not call any other Sims. He can\'t really trust anyone these days.

- Hank *may* talk to Sims that come by his property, but may not invite them in.

- Hank may not pay bills. You must use the option to pay them when they get late.

- Hank may not have a job. He\'s self-sufficient, remember!

- Hank may not complete any Opportunities that require him to leave his lot.

The basic goal is to see how long you can keep Hank going without going into debt, and to see how happy you can make him. Ignore his lifetime wish, though. None of them make sense for a survivalist. Here are some other goals you can attempt:

- Have Hank master Fishing, Gardening, Cooking and Handiness. This will make him the ultimate survivalist!

- Let Hank die happy. If you can play him for long enough to get him to Elderly and then die, more power to you.

- Earn 50,000 Simoleons selling food Hank grows or catches.

For variations, you can allow Hank to visit a nearby fishing pond (to make it
easier) or do something as crazy as delete the front door (to make it harder).
