Thoughts on TS3

GEPOSTET AM 06.06.2009 04:21

Well now I\'ve been playing the game for about half a week and I have some opinions. Firstly TS3 certainly feels more streamlined than TS2. The way mood is handled and the fact that the sims will take care of their most urgent of needs automatically is cool. Most of the gameplay is ok and much the same as TS2. There are certainly more things to do, but as usual it feels like there just aren\'t enough hours in 1 simday to do everything you need. I\'ve started playing with aging set to the next level up from normal, otherwise it\'s hard to get rich! Speaking of getting rich, I\'m at stage 9 of the culinary track and I only work 3 days a week. That\'s great! However, I only make something like $230/hr, and I work from 3pm to 8pm. That means I\'m only pulling in $1150 a day, or $3450 a week. That\'s not very much at all if you\'re playing on normal aging.

The other thing I\'ve been getting into is building. This is an area I feel that needs improvement. Some of the options we have are really limited. Why can\'t I make a curved staircase, or one with landings? I can make an L shaped staircase if I pull the stairs underground, because the terrain morphs to support it! However it won\'t let me make one going up, because there\'s nothing usable as a support for the landing, unless I make the 2nd floor the landing! Lame! The lack of circular building tools is also a shame. No rounded balconies or rooms. Ahh well...

A-a-a-lmost there.

2 more sleeps before the launch party here in Bangkok. I\'m excited. Not because I get my copy of the Sims 3, but because there\'ll be a lucky draw. Amongst the things they\'re giving away are 3 Sony Playstation 3s. I\'d love to win one. There are 2 must have games for the PS3; MSG4 and GT5 (when it comes out).

Wish me luck!
