The wonderful adventures of TS2: An Introduction

GEPOSTET AM 29.09.2011 04:08

Greetings fellow simmers, (Looks around, notices no one, shrugs, goes back to monologue) how many of you look at your sims as actual people. People in the sense that you feel an emotional attachment to the sims you create. Do you hold onto those stories of your sims and/or remember all the highs and lows of their existence? Do you feel like a part of you is lost when you lose your saves? Well, if not you\'re apparently not as mentally ill as I am. I am happy in my sickness though, the sims allows me to watch as others build relationships, careers, and otherwise advance in life. It is a life-cycle that I feel I have control of.

I first began my sims adventure with the original...The Sims. A beauty to behold, with it\'s two or three starting families, flat graphics, and wonderful gameplay. I remember my first sim was an abusive motorcyclist couch potato. Oh the times we had ignoring the filth building in his house. It didn\'t quite carry an emotional attachment at the time, either because of my young age or the unlikable sim I had developed. Sadly I never truly explored The Sims, by the time I had finally gotten around to playing TS another game had already been released, The Sims 2.

Ah, the beauty of full 3D environments, what a change! Not to mention the sims actually had multiple sides to their being! The Sims 2 was a huge leap forward in a sense of how I felt \"The Sims\" should feel. To this day, I still look to TS2 as the way true sims look and act. Every other sims series gets compared to TS2 to measure how \"genuine\" the sims are.

I fell in love with TS2, I fell in love with my sims (I spent four years on the same family) and their stories, I fell in love with a purely genius world. I can still recall most of the life events of the Capp family during their multiple lifetime stay in the town of Zalzont. I hope to share these stories that have, in a way, become part of my life, with the fellow simmers who just might understand how a sim can truly become part of the family.
