Parenting in general is difficult, add a child with challenges and it gets, well challenging! yet it also is rewarding in a way that parents of typical children can never experience. To steal a quote from a book I read long ago \"He is my greatest hardship, yet God\'s singular way of smiling on me.\"

You learn you have to be your child\'s biggest advocate and fight for programs and services that are easily accessible to \"typical\" children. You learn that sometimes your biggest supporters are not family or even life-long friends, but people who have made a conscious decision to work with differently abled people. Those people, whom you probably would have never met had you not been gifted with this child, give you strength to fight another battle, an ear to talk to, and a shoulder to lean on. They most definately are angels that walk the earth.
