Mi Historia
I'm realizing that I definitely do have my own "style":---------------------------------------------------- Most of my lots are mid-size suburban style residential lots. The interiors are usually neutral, but I use a lot of textures and monotone patterns to give visual interest. I'm dedicated to a "playable" lot. I don't like houses so big that Sims go missing in a maze of hallways. (though sometimes that can be fun) I abhor "traffic jams" and I try to build each room/area with multiple entries and exits to let sims move freely. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My bathrooms have lots of partitioned areas, and to some people they may look cramped or crowded, but they are designed that way with a purpose - so that if one sim is using the toilet, he is in is own "room", allowing any other sim to enter and use the shower or tub. I often place seperate tubs and showers each in their own "room" so you are actually able to have 4 sims using the same bathroom at the same time.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a hard time building anything that is "unrealistic" - I'm constantly rearranging my plumbing items because I know that in real life bathrooms are often back to back or stacked on top of each other so that the plumbing only goes thru one or two walls, instead of going willy nilly all over the place. And I hate building pools without fences because where I live you must have a fence so kids don't drown. I don't know, maybe it's because my stepdad was a "code enforcement" officer for a local municipality, and he would regale us with tales of building codes and requirements until all hours of the night. I dunno, I ain't saying I'm normal, but I am a stickler for realism. ----------------------------------------------------------------------(I was khakido on the sims2 site)
All My Stuff is Pink and Grey!

Nothing in my life is pink, or grey. I look terrible in pink, and terrible in grey. Nothing in my house is pink or grey - everything I have is cranberry and dark wood, so I don't know why I've been so obsessed with pink and grey. I don't ever start out wanting stuff to be pink and grey, but I'll start to design something and little by little it ends up pink and grey - something about it I just love. I guess I'm just a girly-girl at heart, or maybe it's because pink and grey is color of brains, and I'm a zombie.

Boy, uploading stuff sure seems buggy. My things show up as those stupid green sneakers. Frustrating.

I've been building a house, a cute little 2-story country number, and I've been getting used to the customization tools, I like the build/buy abilities, for the most part, though some of the shadows that are overlaying the textures are a bit much.

Here's something that's handy:

Customizing wood patterns - the patterns where there are visible "planks" are fun because you can customize each individual plank. It took me a while to figure that out, because I didn't like the look of the plank-type woods, so I passed right over them in customizing mode. If you choose the right type of planked wood, the color palette circle shows an array of colors that you can play around with. (pic in link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/23606290@N02/3597732246/ ). One of the best uses of these woods so far has been customizing the baseboards and mouldings on wallcoverings. The particular wood that is shown in the pic matches up in such a way so that one color bubble changes the baseboard, another changes the bottom-most part of the moulding, and the other changes the top part of the moulding.

Just got the game today. So far it looks good. Can't wait to see what modding tools come out, I spent a year learning how to mesh and hope I can continue doing so for the sims3.

Now, I'm off to learn how to build something cool. :)
