The Rumor Mill

GEPOSTET AM 07.03.2011 16:37

Am I the only one not impressed by \"rumors\" of what the new expansion pack will entale? I swear, people are acting like children trying to peek in their parents\' closets to see what presents they\'ll get for Christmas. It\'s all right, kiddies. Christmas will come and we\'ll all be excited by what Sim Santa will bring us. ... As long as it\'s pets.

Hahah.

Yes, I am still hoping for pets. I wish they had brought them sooner, but I\'m sure EA\'s trying to make sure they do it \"right.\" Pets in TS1 were a novelty at best. They were much-improved in TS2, with the level of customization offered. They have to do one better than TS2, and with an open, expansive world like TS3 has now, it probably requires a lot more thought on their part.

Imagine the strays free-roaming from one part of town to the next. Something\'ll have to be done to make sure there aren\'t too many walking around at one time. And what extra variety of pets will be made purchaseable? Dogs and cats are a given, but a lot of people having been crying for farm animals. Frankly, I could live without them, but considering that most of TS3 seems farm and countryside-themed, I can only guess that they are forthcoming.

So yeah. I have my little wants and desires, like any good Simfan, but it seems silly to me to take a rumor and run with it as fiercely as what I\'ve seen on the forums.

But I guess without that sort of things, forums wouldn\'t really exist, now would they?

Moving Along.

Not sure how interested others were in my Genius Life series. I have some friends who keep up with it to this day, and had a small group of people I knew that read it. Just thought I should be courteous and post a little blurb here.\r\n \r\nI\'m no longer doing Genius Life on The Sims 3 website. Twice now, I\'ve had episodes \"mysteriously disappear\" after they have been successfully posted and linked from elsewhere on the web. I would rather not continuously lose these extra bits of myself, so I\'m going a different route altogether.\r\n \r\nI\'ve been working on a project to preserve the previous episodes in pdf format. I\'ve captured episodes 22-27 from this website, and so far have 1-12 from The Sims 2\'s website. Once I get all of the past eps in pdf form, I\'m going to only publish future chapters in pdf form and make them available for download from my google account.\r\n \r\nI\'ve lost 20+ years worth of writing in the mail before, so it is extremely important to me to find ways to preserve the stories I come up with. And I was really glad to finally come up with this solution for the Genius Life series. I don\'t know how long they plan to keep TS2\'s site up but it was a concern of mine since the day Sims 3 hit shelves. I can breathe a bit easier now knowing those and future episodes will not be lost to the internet.\r\n \r\nIf you happened to read my little picture series and would like pdf copies of the episodes for yourself, leave me a message and we\'ll see how I can get them to you. These files aren\'t small but they\'re worth every Megabyte to me.
