Education
Brown Deer High School is a high school on North 60th Street. There are up to 700 students on the role in grades 9-12. The school's sports teams are known as The Falcons.
The educational levels of the people of Brown Deer http://browndeer.net/ are relatively low. High School and maybe a little technical college. Brown Deer's neighborhoods are in transition. With low interest rates and BD's affordable housing, the influx of "undesirable" types whose children are or will inundate the schools will eventually bring down the quality of the schools even more than they have fallen already. These undesirables bring with them pettiness, squabbling, vindictive behaviors, and excessive noise. This they pass on to their children.
Sports
The Brown Deer ******* are apart of the Woodland Conference. The ******* made the move to the Woodland after the 2005 school year. Brown Deer was formerly in the Parkland Conference. The Falcons have won many conference and State champioships. The most recent State championship was in Girls's Track in 2007 and the most recent conference championship was by the Boy's Baseball team in 2006. The football team went undefeated in 2004 and won the conference championship, also winning the first playoff game in school history. The Falcons rival schools are the Pewaukee Pirates, the New Berlin Eisenhower Lions, and the Wauwatosa West Trojans. Brown Deer was also home to now Houston Rocket, Steve Novak. He was the 2001-2002 Gatorade Wisconsin State Player of the Year for basketball.
