Out Of Character Post: The Sims 3 Cheats

The next biggest question on The Sims 3 forum is the cheat codes. May people have been trying the codes that worked in The Sims 2 and find that some work while others don\'t. The blog/website http://www.sims3cheats.org/ has a list of cheats that will work in The Sims 3.
I also have a post here with a list of cheat codes, what ones seem to be working and which don\'t, as well has how to do some of them. (I couldn\'t fit the post here due to the character limit.)
Also, please note that if Ctrl + Shift + C is not working for you to bring up the cheat console, Ctrl + Shift + C + windows key has been found to work.

This is an \"out of character post\" or \"OOC post\". These posts are for Sim news, alerts, tips, tricks, workarounds, and so forth that are not part of my sim story diary.
There has been a lot of chat on the forums about the \"story progression\" feature not actually turning off when turned off. Here is the temporary fix for PC users (I will post the Mac fix when it becomes available):

I realize this is a certainly not \r\nideal but it will address the issue while we are working on a real fix. \r\n
I also want to mention that there are a few events that can still occur \r\neven if story progression is completely off.
- Any pre-made pregnant Sims \r\nwill still have their babies.
- If Aging is on, Sims will still die.
- \r\nAs YOUR Sims get new jobs, other Sims in the neighborhood may have their careers \r\nreassigned to become your boss or co-workers.

Day Two

Dear Diary,
Lydia has been acting very strangely. When I got home from work this evening (I agreed to stay late), I found her in bed in her formal dress! She\'s also been giggling to herself constantly about something. I\'m not sure what\'s going on with her.
I met a new friend today outside the bookstore who is a fantastic cook! She brought over some dishes she wiped up herself when I invited her to my house warming party. Though was very kind of her and I was grateful for the food, I wish I had known she would bring something over because I had ordered pizza for everyone. Ah well!
This is how I found out today that if a sim enjoys cooking, they will bring over some of their cooking to your party! Saves you from cooking or ordering in. =)
I learned another thing today that I would like to share with you, because I had no idea it worked this way and it took me a while to figure it out: if a sim dies, you can get their grave marker from the graveyard mausoleum. I\'m not sure if the grave marker goes to the mausoleum if it\'s a death in your active family, but this is definitely how you get it if a sim dies that is not being played.

Dear Diary,
Today was my first day in Sunset Valley. I moved in with a woman my age named Lydia Wasp. She seemed a bit crazy at first, since she seemed to be talking to someone who wasn\'t there, but then when we started talking about art I knew we would get along just fine!
I didn\'t really get much done today. I spent all day moving in, arranging my things so that they looked perfect, getting to know Lydia, and taking a walk around down to figure out where everything is located. Lydia and I also bought a goldfish today. We named her Summer. =)
I think I\'m going to work on getting a job in journalism. It\'s been one of my longest wishes!

Let There Be Sims!

Hello everyone! Like many of you, I am so excited about The Sims 3! I get my copy of the collector\'s edition tomorrow. I can\'t wait to begin my adventures in Sunset Valley!
I\'m going to be using my blog as a diary of sorts for each of my Sims to write in. It will be a story that each of my Sims will get to take a part in telling. I think this will be very interesting as traits come into play and each Sim gives their point of view about what is going on in the world around them. Once in a while, I may include my own version of what\'s happening (which is written in italics ) so that you can compare my story to the Sim version. =)
If there are any stories that are written in the diary that seem like they would make a good edition to my studio, I will be sure to add them either as a story or a movie!
